Vishwa Deenadayalan is a talented Indian table tennis player who is famous across the country for winning several competitions at the national and international levels. He is India’s top U-19 table tennis player. He died on April 17, 2022, when the taxi he was traveling in collided with a 12-wheeler truck along with 3 other players in Ri-Bhoi district, Shillong, Meghalaya.

According to some sources, Vishwa Deenadayalan was born on Sunday, January 4, 2004, and according to some sources, he was born on Thursday, April 1, 2004, in Chennai, Tamil Nadu (18 years old; at the time of death). After completing his studies at Jaigopal Garodia Vivekananda Vidyalaya HSS, he joined Loyola College in Chennai. There, he was a first-year college student studying for a bachelor’s degree in business.

As a young boy, Vishwa Deenadayalan showed keen interest in the field of table tennis and hence, his father admitted him to Krishnaswamy Table Tennis Club in Chennai (Krishnaswamy Table Tennis Club). In the initial stages of training, Vishwa received intensive training from two of the biggest names in table tennis, Ramnath Prasad and Jai Prabhu Ram. As Vishwa’s table tennis skills improved, he later became a member of the prestigious Tamizhagar Table Tennis Association (TTTA) state men’s team. In 2019, Vishwa reached the quarter-finals of the nationals in Hyderabad along with his mixed doubles partner Selena Deepthi. Vishwa was selected for the 83rd National and Inter-State Senior Table Tennis Tournament in Shillong as a member of the Tamizhagar Table Tennis Association (TTTA) state men’s team. The selection for the Shillong team was not easy for Vishwa as he had to beat another ace Mallesh Kumar in the selection rounds.

Vishwa is an outstanding player and due to his skills, he was selected as part of the Indian team that will represent the country at the U-19 World Table Tennis Youth Contenders tournament in Linz, Austria. The international championship will begin on April 27, 2022.

On April 17, 2022, Vishwa Deenadayalan traveled from Guwahati Airport to Shillong to participate in the 83rd National and Inter-State Table Tennis Senior Competition. He was in a taxi with three other players. When the taxi collided with a 12-wheeler truck on National Highway 6, with the help of locals, the budding player was immediately rushed to a local civil hospital in Nongpoh where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The entire TTTA (men’s and women’s) team left Guwahati airport in three different cars between 12.30 pm and 1245 pm on Sunday. When our car reached the spot, we saw our coach Jai Prabhu Ram and some locals rescuing our paddlers from the accident site. Vishwa showed no signs of injury. We shouted his name, hoping he would open his eyes, but he had no reaction at all. Then a medical student or a doctor even attempts CPR. He was quickly taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital. ”
