Jared Padalecki’s time as Cordell Walker has come to an end.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday, May 21, Padalecki, 41, announced that the CW has canceled Walker, chuck norris reboot Walker, Texas Rangerafter four seasons.
“Hello everyone. It is with a heavy heart that I share this news with you. #Walker will not be airing on the #CW for a fifth season. It’s definitely hard news, but we are SO grateful for the #WalkerFamily that has been built, both on and off the set,” the former Supernatural the star wrote alongside a photo of his cap and badge.

“After four seasons together, we have felt the love and support of the entire #WalkerFamily and will be forever grateful,” he continued. “Too often we are the ones receiving praise, thanks and flattery and, too often, we miss the opportunity to return it where it belongs… WITH THE FANS!”
Padalecki wrote that the cast’s “gratitude and love for the entire #WalkerFamily will live on forever.” “It was a unique honor to be a part of the cast and crew (and fans!) who helped #Walker tell the stories we told. I will forever smile about the years I spent with the cast and network and fans who made this all possible 🤠❤️ .

The CW confirmed the news by sharing Padalecki’s statement on its official Instagram account and issuing a statement to The Hollywood Reporter.
“We want to thank the entire cast, crew, writers, directors and producers of Walker for their hard work and dedication over four incredible seasons. We also want to give special thanks to star and executive producer Jared Padalecki, who has been a member of the CW family for more than 20 years and has been an integral part of some of the network’s biggest hits,” the statement said.
Some cast members reacted to the news by commenting on Padalecki’s post.

“The loveliest group of people in front of and behind the camera that I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting and working with. All led by your brother. Thank you. I can’t wait to see what you do next,” Dave Annable, who reprises his role as Dan Miller in 2 and Season 3, he wrote.

Odette Annable, who played Geraldine “Geri” Broussard, shared Padalecki’s post on her Instagram stories. “Heartbroken here but so damn grateful for every minute on set @thecwwalker,” she wrote. “It saved me in more ways than I can list.”
The Walker the series finale will be broadcast on June 26.
