Katie Stark wrote to Walkers Crisps and asked: “Have you stopped making beef and onion crisps?”

Along with her question, she posted a meme of a dog with tears in its eyes, with the caption: “Say it’s not true.”

To her surprise, the Walkers responded to her tweet – but their response was the opposite of what she had hoped for.

“Hi Katie,” they wrote, “sorry to say that Beef & Onion was discontinued last year.”

After 37 people viewed the heartbreaking reply, Katie replied: “Depressed… why?” with a GIF of SpongeBob SquarePants screaming into the sky.

The Crazy Bout Crisps Facebook page also took to social media to share their disappointment that the flavor has been discontinued.

“So Walkers have confirmed to me that they have once again discontinued their Beef & Onion flavored crisps. Sad times,” they wrote.

More than 60 people took to the comments section to share how “annoyed” they were.

One said: “Omg! One of my favorite meat flavours! How do prawn flavored crisps still sell, compared to the delicious beef and onion ones? Bring back the walkers please!”

Another commented: “I’m horrified, I don’t understand why they stopped eating beef and onions and chewed them for decades. They made sausage taste so horrible there”

Another added: “Damaged. They were a favorite of mine along with bacon and chicken. Why oh why stop something that was voted the best. Every time I like something it always gets taken off the market.”

It comes after Walkers discontinued the hugely popular crispy flavor for good, with customers saying their sandwiches are now ruined.

The brand told fans it stopped making the Worcester sauce flavor last month.

In August, Walkers launched two new flavors after teaming up with the fast food giant.

The snack giant has introduced new flavors with Pizza Hut to add pizza toppings to its Max Ridge crisps.
