Career
Walter Sharpe has been playing professional basketball since 2008. He began his professional basketball career after being selected by the Seattle SuperSonics in the 2008 NBA Draft, but was quickly traded to the Detroit Pistons. Shortly after being elected, he was diagnosed with narcolepsy. He was traded to the Milwaukee Bucks on July 13, 2009, but was quickly waived by the franchise on October 26, 2009. Sharpe signed with the Memphis Grizzlies for the 2011–12 season. and was fired two days before the start of the regular season.
He joined the PBA’s GlobalPort Batang Pier in March 2013. Sharpe was dismissed from the team when the team discovered him sleeping on the pavement of the parking lot. He joined Puerto Rican club Brujos de Guayama on July 1, 2014, but left after just one game. On February 9, 2015, Sharpe signed with Cocodrilos de Caracas of Venezuela for the 2015 LPB season and became a free agent after the season.
