Wanindu Hasaranga is a Sri Lankan cricketer who has represented Sri Lanka in many tournaments and set several records with his bowling skills. He has played in many leagues in different countries and is regarded as one of the best fielders Sri Lanka has ever produced.

Pinnaduwage Wanindu Hasaranga de Silva aka Wanindu Hasaranga was born on Tuesday, July 29, 1997 in Galle, Sri Lanka (26 years old; as of 2023). His zodiac sign is Leo. He was educated at Richmond College in Galle and began playing cricket at the age of twelve. He participated in cricket training with the under-13 team and started playing as a fast bowler. He later became a good all-around athlete who loved to play defense. He rose to fame in inter-school cricket in 2014 when he took 12 catches in a match. He later met coach Rankar de Silva, who was impressed by Hasaranga’s good arm speed and convinced him to become a leg-spin bowler. He subsequently played in many inter-school tournaments, including the 2017 Red Bull School Cricket Championship. Later, he started a career in cricket.

He made his first-class domestic debut on 26 February 2016 for Sri Lanka Port Authority Cricket Club (SLPACC) against Bloomfield; he did not take a wicket; however, he performed well with the bat, winning the first innings 87 points, 6 points scored in the second game. On 30 November 2015, he played his first one-day match in the country for SLPACC in the AIA Premier Limited Over Tournament against the Tamil League. He later represented Colombo, Dambulla and Galle in various domestic competitions. He took 10 wickets in a first-class match, scored 24 runs and took 6 wickets in a one-day performance that was outstanding and was selected for the under-19 team.
