A new feature in Call of Duty: Warzone 2 allows players to team up with random enemies, and the Unhinged playlist gives players the wildest options for in-game teambuilding. Warzone 2 is already making a splash in the battle royale pool, adding a swath of new features and improving on the previous iteration of Call of Duty: Warzone. The Assimilation feature is a perfect example of these improvements, creating fun, new inter-player opportunities for Warzone players.
As previously mentioned, the Assimilation feature allows players to invite opponents to join their squad and represents a big change to Warzone 2. While this feature sounds interesting at first glance, the mechanic only typically allows players to recruit squads up to the playlist’s maximum, allowing squads who’ve lost teammates to bargain new teammates onto their squads as they lose their allies to the Gulag. This, however, is where the Unhinged playlist comes in: the playlist allows players to double their squad size, from three at the beginning of a match to six, by recruiting enemies on the field of battle.
Assimilation In Unhinged Allows Enemies To Join A Squad In Warzone 2
The Unhinged playlist is currently only available in BR Trios, but that limitation does not diminish the unhinged nature of the playlist. This expanded Assimilation feature is one of the best changes to Warzone yet, offering players new opportunities to meet other players and double their chances of finishing at the top of the leaderboard. That, when combined with the massive changes to the Gulag in Warzone 2, really separates the newest iteration of Call of Duty: Warzone from its predecessor.
Clearly, the developers at Infinity Ward and Raven Software have shifted their focus to encourage more player cooperation in Warzone 2 matches. Proximity chat will allow players to communicate with enemy players in their vicinity, allowing them to bargain or team up. The Gulag has shifted to 2v2 matches and includes an AI-controlled Jailer that can release all four players to the main area if they work together. Adding the Assimilation feature, with the Unhinged playlist’s expanded squad capabilities, all lend themselves to bringing more players together and creating the best moments in Call of Duty: Warzone.
Warzone 2 is set to change battle royale games for the better when it is released to the public on November 28. The original version of the game will continue to be playable and will be renamed Call of Duty: Warzone Caldera. But, with the significant changes Call of Duty: Warzone 2 is bringing to the social space of the series, many players will be hard-pressed to remain on Caldera.
