Watch Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney Pretend They’re In Love in New Anyone But You Trailer

Glen Powell and Sydney Sweeney try not to fall in love in their new romantic comedy.

Sony Pictures released a new trailer for Anyone but you on Thursday, introducing Powell, 35, and Sweeney, 26, as a couple attending a destination wedding. At Bea’s sister’s wedding, friends note that Bea (Sweeney) and Ben (Powell) once had an affair during the breakup of Bea’s last relationship. Meanwhile, Bea learns that Ben’s ex-girlfriend — who “broke his heart” — is also at the wedding.

When Bea’s parents arrive at the party with her ex Jonathan in tow, she and Ben make a deal to pretend to be in a relationship to prevent her parents from convincing her to get back with her ex, and for Ben to court his ex again.

To do this, the couple must pretend to actually enjoy each other’s company and invoke the initial attraction they had for each other when they first met. As the wedding weekend progresses, Ben and Bea’s fake couple jokes get funnier and they start to wonder if they really belong together.

“Bea and Ben seem like the perfect couple, but after an unlikely first date, something happens that turns their fiery attraction into an icy one – until they unexpectedly find themselves together at a destination wedding in Australia,” reads the film’s official synopsis. “So they do what any two mature adults would do: they pretend to be a couple.”

Anyone but you has been on the radar of romantic comedy fans for months after Sweeney shared a number of photos from the film’s production in Australia in April. That same month, the actors appeared together at CinemaCon 2023 in Las Vegas, where they introduced the film as revolving around “two people who hate each other”.
