GEMMA Collins is engaged to Rami Hawash after he secretly popped the question on their lavish holiday in the Maldives – 14 years after they first found love.

The reality TV legend, 43, is set to make her ‘happily ever after’ after Rami’s stunning romantic proposal left her in tears by surprise.

A source told The Sun: “Rami popped the question again in the Maldives and Gemma had no idea it was coming, she was so shocked.

“She’s absolutely thrilled and can’t believe it’s finally happening.

“Rami threw out hundreds of roses and there were thousands of petals. She didn’t know what was happening until a huge tray of cakes came out and when Gemma started eating her mango dessert, Rami surprised her and said, ‘look at that.’

“He was like, ‘Will you marry me?’ on the sand.

“Gemma had no idea, she thought they were having a relaxing dinner on the beach, she wasn’t wearing make-up, it was a beautiful natural moment and she couldn’t have asked for anything more.

“He got down on one knee, the ring was in the shell. It was such a beautiful moment and of course she cried.”

The source added: “Yes, the ring is absolutely amazing. It’s a huge big splash.”

Gemma and Rami first got engaged 11 years ago, but unfortunately divorced because she wasn’t ready to settle down then.

They rekindled their romance in isolation after a chance meeting at a music concert, which followed her sad split from troubled Towie co-star James Argent.

Two years ago, Gemma revealed that Rami had proposed to her for the second time.

When asked if they see marriage in the future, Gemma said: “Yes, but we can’t say anything yet because Ram was already married and his paperwork hasn’t arrived, so until it’s officially signed, we won’t say anything.

“They haven’t been together for two years. I know her, she has a partner, she’s as good as gold. There’s also a child, he’s only three years old, I obviously love him to death.”

The TV star previously revealed that she wants to get married abroad.

“I finally found a place. It’s going to be in Mykonos,” Judi Love said on The Big Breakfast 2022.

“It will be a big event that everyone will be looking forward to.”

She also compared herself and Rami to Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, who tied the knot nearly two decades after first dating.

Of the big day itself, Gemma said: “Darling, it’s not going to be modest.

“Every time I see Jen and Ben, it’s me and Rami.

“So I’m going to call J-Lo and see if she’ll lend me one of her outfits for the evening, so I’m giving J-Lo a call, baby.”

Gemma is a caring mum to six-year-old Tristan and is often pictured cuddling up to him during their family days out.

She publicly thanked his biological mother for “letting her take care of him” and spoke of her happiness to be in Tristan’s life.

And he will play a key role in her wedding to Rami, along with her two nephews, as she often shares her love with boys.

Gemma has always been open about her desire to have a family, and recently she wanted to spend time with Tristan.

Rami also named her “the best stepmom” after she hired a Brazilian chef to cook for his son Tristan.

The car businessman explained that the former The Only Way Is Essex star always goes the extra mile for Tristan because she just “loves” being his stepmother.

Gemma told ODE about her stepmother life: “At first, because his mum is Brazilian and Rami is obviously Israeli, I thought ‘this kid’s not going to eat scrambled eggs or cornflakes for breakfast.’

“I used to like to make a whole continental breakfast, and Rami used to say, ‘He won’t eat that,’ so then I hired a Brazilian chef, so, yeah, it’s full of Brazilian chefs.”

Rami interjected: “We also have a Brazilian cleaner, a whole house full of people cooking, cleaning, doing this, doing that, amazing.”

He added of Gemma: “She’s the best mum, our life is really good at the moment, the way she takes care of Tristan. Tristan loves Gemma so much.”

The timeline of the love story of Gemma and Rami

Their love story was years in the making and it was meant to be.

It all started back in 2011 when they met in a pub in Chigwell, Essex.

They started dating two years later and Rami made several appearances on The Only Way Is Essex before announcing their first engagement that same year.

But their relationship hit a rough patch, leading to a breakup, with Gemma stating that she was “not ready” for marriage at the time.

After a tumultuous relationship with her Towie co-star James Argento, Gemma and Rami found their way to each other in late 2020 after crossing paths at a Madonna concert in London.

In December 2021, Gemma announced for the first time that they were re-engaged and accepted her role as stepmother to Rami’s six-year-old son Tristan.

A year later, she called off their wedding, insisting she didn’t want to spend frivolously on a big wedding during a cost-of-living crisis.

The twist came a year before they reignited split rumors.

Last year, they were not photographed together in public for months.

They also unfollowed each other on social media.
