WAYNE ROONEY is closing in on a return to Plymouth Argyle management, according to reports.
The former England star was last in a Birmingham shirt before being sacked in January.

Rooney had a terrible time at St Andrew’s, winning just two of his 15 games in charge.
But Rooney is now set for a comeback with Plymouth, who narrowly avoided relegation from the Championship on a thrilling final day of the season.
The club is looking for a new boss after the sacking of Ian Foster.
Plymouth boss Neil Dewsnip is leading an interest in Rooney, according to The Telegraph.
The Manchester United legend was a youngster who broke through at Everton, while Dewsnip was a coach at Goodison Park’s academy.
Since then, they have allegedly remained in contact.
SunSport understands talks have not yet taken place – but Rooney is being considered.
Rooney, who has also managed Derby and DC United, faces a busy summer as he has already agreed to join the BBC for their coverage of Euro 2024.
