Elmo has joined the ever-growing list of Swifties!
The favorite fuzzy red muppet celebrated the release 1989 (Taylor Version) on Friday with a sweet tribute to Taylor Swift’s classic anthem.

Popular sesame street character account on xofficially known as Twitter, paid tribute to the pop star by posting a Polaroid picture of Elmo along with the caption, “‘Cause Elmo will never go out of style. Yeah baby! ❤️ 📷 #1989TaylorsVersion.”
In typical Swift style, Elmo’s photo included its own set of Easter eggs.
Fans will notice that Elmo’s photo, while giving a nod to the song “Style,” shows him holding a camera in front of a backdrop of blue skies and seagulls.

The background is almost identical to Swift’s cover photo 1989 (Taylor’s version). Polaroid also paid tribute to the original 2014 album with black text emblazoned with “EST. 1980,” when Elmo first appeared on sesame street.
While the “Out of the Woods” singer did not appear on the iconic children’s show, Haim — who is known for touring with the singer as an opening act — did appear in May.

This year has been extremely busy for Swift.
1989 (Taylor version) was first announced at the last stop of the Eras Tour in Los Angeles. The success of the tour prompted the singer to add more new dates to her international tour schedule and spawned the release of the album Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film.
The concert film was just as successful after its October 12 release, bringing in $92.8 million in ticket sales during its three-day debut period and Thursday night previews. Its launch now boasts the title of the fifth biggest opening of any theatrical release this year.

Swift described what he was doing 1989 (Taylor Version) one of her favorite projects to date in an Instagram post in August.
“Surprise!! 1989 (Taylor version) is on its way to you 🔜! The 1989 album changed my life in countless ways and it fills me with excitement to announce that my version will be released on October 27th,” she wrote. “To be completely honest, this is my FAVORITE re-recording I’ve ever done because the songs 5 From The Vault so crazy. I can’t believe they were ever left. But not for long!”
After releasing the album on Friday, Swift opened up about how much revisiting the album meant to her in an Instagram caption.
“I was born in 1989, reinvented for the first time in 2014, and a part of me was brought back to 2023 with the re-release of this album I love so much. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine the magic you would sprinkle over my life for so long,” Swift wrote. “This moment is a reflection of the forest through which we wandered and all this love between us that still shines in the darkest darkness. I present to you, with gratitude and wild wonder, my version in 1989. It was waiting for you. taylor”
