Sunny Hostin’s Hand in a Cast for 4 Weeks After The View Co-Host Falls Rollerskating: ‘Embarrassed’

Sunny Hostin is recovering from a roller-skating accident that left her with a broken hand.

On Thursday, View co-host, 55, shared in an Instagram video, posted jointly on her account and the talk show’s account, that she slipped while taking a Zoom roller skating class with some friends.

I was a little embarrassed to share this story, but I will tell you what happened, she said in the video, sitting in an office chair.

“I took a virtual, Zoom, indoor ice skating class in my home on hardwood floors with a group of friends at other locations,” she continued. “I took my skates up in the attic and put them on, not wearing padding, as my husband suggested, and I fell.”

“As the saying goes, you play stupid games and win stupid prizes,” she joked. “And this is my silly reward.”

Hostin then joked that “one of the good things” is that she got some famous people to sign her cast — including a former adult star and a new Stormy documentary subject Stormy Daniels and supermodel Gisele Bündchen.

“It’s history,” she joked once again. “My award is historic, so that’s a plus.”

Hostin revealed that she will wear a cast for about four weeks, although she “took two weeks to get away with an air cast” — a type of cast that allows more air to flow freely around the injured body part, rather than a traditional cast or fiberglass cast.

“But obviously, I’m a non-compliant patient and I didn’t have him 24/7,” she said, ending the clip. “And now the result is a fiberglass casting.”

Just a few months ago, the talk show co-host revealed that she had suffered another exercise-related injury — that time, it was a torn hamstring while doing the splits.

During the October 2023 episode, Hostin told the story of how she had one glass of wine too many and tried to share — before hearing an “audible popping sound,” per Entertainment Weekly.

“I feel good. I still feel like I’m in pretty good shape, I feel like I’ve got good knees, I can still do the tricks. I have proof of that, I did the rotation last week,” Hostin joked at the time, recalling the injury. “However, then my kids challenged me last week, and I said, ‘Of course I can do the split!’ Now I have a torn hamstring.”

“I was hot and I was actually going to do a split here and my husband is shaking his head,” she continued, before the cameras cut to Manny shaking his head in the show’s audience.
