Wendy Williams was seen in public for the first time in over a year.
Williams, 60, was seen with her son, Kevin Hunt Jr. β who she shares with ex-husband Kevin Hunter β at Bolingo Balance Holistic Store in Newark, NJ on Monday, August 19. The outing, which was first reported by Page Six, marks the first time the television personality has been spotted since March 2023.
An employee at Bolingo Balance – run by the late Dr Sebi’s son, Victor Bowman – told the outlet that Williams was “sharp, upbeat and aware” and “very lively” during the visit. She was “interesting, but she wasn’t that familiar with what we do here, so her son explained things more.”

The employee continued, “She talked about improving circulation but didn’t want to go into too much detail on their first meeting and plans to return in the near future.”
Bowman also shared a photo of himself and Williams on his Facebook page on Monday, August 19. “Wendy Williams come to my store π¬ love Queen so much πΈπΎ,” he captioned the post.
The photos were also published on the store’s Instagram profile. “Lots of love to Wendy Williams and her son β€οΈ,” read the caption. “I remember when I met Kevin in Usha Village, Dad said I want you to meet Wendy’s son.”

Williams was last seen and photographed in public in March 2023, when she was seen returning to her apartment in New York. Before that, she last appeared on The Wendy Williams Show in July 2021. Ahead of the show ending in June 2022 and amid Williams’ ongoing health issues, including Graves’ disease, lymphedema and alcohol abuse, multiple celebrities appeared as guest hosts before it was canceled.
Between her appearances in March 2023 and August 2024, Williams’ team discovered that she had been diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and a diagnosis of frontotemporal dementia. Her sister Wanda Finnie and niece Alex exclusively told PEOPLE in February that she was unaware of her diagnosis after being hospitalized for cognitive issues. She said she has not received information about Williams’ diagnosis since fall 2021.

Finnie added that shortly after the star’s legal guardianship began in April 2022, communication with her and the rest of the family was limited.
The following month, court documents were released detailing the ongoing battle between Williams’ legal and financial guardian, Sabrina Morrissey, and Lifetime’s parent company, A+E Networks. They also discussed the documentary about Williams β Where is Wendy Williams? β and a reference to the hotly debated status of Williams’ finances.
Since Morrissey’s March 2024 filing, Williams’ New York penthouse was sold in May. Then, in July, she celebrated her 60th birthday, but a source told PEOPLE at the time that her family “is cheering and praying for Wendy and want to express their good wishes as she celebrates her 60th birthday.”
“Wendy Williams’ family is unable to discuss her current condition and location due to ongoing litigation and the fact that they have been largely denied contact,” the source added.
