Wendy’s fans can score a slam dunk deal.
The fast food joint is sharing savings on the Wendy’s app for basketball fans during March Madness. Customers can grab a $1 Dave’s Single or a $2 Dave’s Double anytime now through April 10 by checking out the deals tab in the app.
Dave’s Single is bigger than their Jr. Bacon Cheeseburger. It’s a quarter-pound patty with American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, ketchup, mayonnaise and onions on a bun. Dave’s Double includes two patties.
Wendy’s Rewards members can take advantage of the discounted cheeseburger offer only once, but no purchase is necessary, and the burger joint will have several other discounts and freebies during the college basketball tournament.
The March Madness deal was announced shortly after news that Wendy’s plans to introduce “dynamic pricing” in 2025 swept the internet.

In an earnings call in February, Wendy’s CEO Kirk Tanner explained that the chain will spend $20 million to add digital menu boards to restaurants. He added that with digitized menus, “AI-enabled menu changes and suggestive selling,” Wendy’s can implement price changes quickly.
While many interpreted the announcement to mean that their new pricing model will work in a similar way to how ride-sharing apps like Uber or Lyft charge higher prices during times of increased demand (a practice called surge pricing), a Wendy’s representative clarified to PEOPLE that customers may notice lower prices during slower parts of the day – not increases during peak hours.

“[We] would not raise prices when our customers visit us the most,” they said in a statement. “Any features we might test in the future would be designed to benefit our customers and restaurant members. Digital menus could allow us to change menu offerings at different times of the day and more easily offer discounts and value offers to our customers, especially at slower times of the day.”
Regardless, Burger King was giving away free burgers for a limited time in a not-so-subtle clapback to Wendy’s “dynamic pricing.”
“We don’t believe in charging guests more when they’re hungry,” Burger King wrote in a press release announcing the free Whopper offer. “Price gouging? Well, that’s new. It’s good that the only thing that burns in BK is our flame!”
