In Season 16, the Knockouts were replaced by “The Live Cross Battles”, allowing artists to perform on multiple teams. The format varied in Season 17, omitting Live Cross Battles. How does the Voice choose its winners?

Each voting method is limited to ten votes per user, and the voting window lasts until noon EST the following day.
A unique feature of the show, particularly prevalent from the Season 3 Top 12 show to the end of Season 17, involves purchases of singles on iTunes that influence voting. The bonus multiplier can be ten or five, depending on the season. Between seasons 15 and 17, the bonus multiplier included streams as votes, and the artist with the most streams after the voting window received the bonus. However, as of Season 18, the iTunes Bonus Multiplier was discontinued due to the performances being recorded outside the studio for safety reasons during the COVID-19 outbreak.
In season 19, studio performances were recorded on YouTube Music, replacing the traditional iTunes and Spotify recordings. Regardless of whether or not a song is included in the top 10, the bonuses no longer apply starting in season 20. Season 22 marked the first season with no studio performances released on any platform in general.
The introduction of “Instant Save” in season five added another dynamic to the voting process. During live elimination episodes, viewers have a five-minute window to vote for contestants facing elimination via Twitter accounts or the official app. Since season 17, this has become an opportunity for artists to perform an extra song to garner votes.
