Months after announcing his withdrawal from ChallengeWes Bergmann appeared in the cast list for House of villains season 2
“My fans are always with me. They say, ‘You’re going to come back and do this. What are you doing?’” Bergmann, 40, tells PEOPLE. “There was a 10-fold difference in time commitments. I could show up this fat and dumb and out of shape and do well. While on ChallengeI have to train for six months, leave the country and report to prison for three months. It’s much, much, much different.”
Bergmann added it to House of villainshe could “go out and hang out” with his co-star Teresa Giudice (The Real Housewives of New Jersey), Jessie Godderz (Big Brother), Richard Hatch (Survived), Victoria Larson (Bachelor), Larissa Lima (Fiancé of 90 days), Kandy Muse (RuPaul’s Drag Race), Camilla Poindexter (Bad Girls Club), Tiffany “New York” Pollard (The taste of love) and Safaree (Love and Hip Hop: Atlanta).

“Obviously I knew who Teresa was, so I thought it was fun,” says Bergmann. “I could tell right away that I was going to be friends with Safaree, so I wasn’t playing as much as they wanted to give me credit for at the beginning, we were just kind of getting to know each other and it was really playful. Some cool friendships were made. And then we used the skill of the game to go after the less funny people.”
The strategy has so far worked to keep Bergmann off the kill list. In the season two premiere episode that aired Wednesday, Oct. 9, Supervillain of the Week Safaree, 43, nominated Muse, 29, Larson, 31, and Lima, 38, for elimination.

Bergmann says he was “gathering data” at the start of the game – and reveals he’s touched base House of villains season 1 finalist and co Challenge champion Johnny “Bananas” Devenanzio.
But “you can only take what he says with a grain of salt,” says Bergmann. “In some ways he is very, very different from me. But I got the gist of it all and it was useful to talk to him. But I can’t do what he does because he has that thing that I could never replicate, so I still had to be myself.”

Bergmann was still watching Devenanzio Challenge 40: Battle of the Epochs and admits to having “a little FOMO” about not participating.
“I will be Challengethe biggest cheerleader, and there are things like cameos in my future Challenge“, triple Challenge says the winner. “But doing different things with very different types of people is more off my bucket list than what my 22nd or 23rd season would mean. There started to be a law of diminishing returns of what I was coming out of Challenge.”
The MTV vet thinks a few of his own Challenge colleagues would do well on House of villainsalso. “Ashley Mitchell, Amanda Garcia, Devin Walker, those three would thrive in this environment,” he says.

Although it can be Challenge performing in a series for Bergmann, he rejects the possibility of appearing at Challenge: All Starswhich usually requires a shorter recording.
“Everybody likes to say, ‘Oh, go All stars. This is the lighter version.’ They are just as hard!” says the father of 12-month-old daughter Lucy. “It’s just on a different channel, also in a different country, also with the same people. We still hike mountains and jump out of helicopters and stuff.”
