Baltimore Ravens Fan Edit Featuring Taylor Swift Goes Viral Ahead of Ravens-Chiefs Game

The viral edited video shows the pop star nervously watching the Kansas City Chiefs game and is paired with Baltimore Ravens running back Lamar Jackson taking the field

Baltimore Ravens fans aren’t afraid of a little “Bad Blood” ahead of Sunday’s AFC Championship.

A new fan edit has gone viral on TikTok, featuring footage of pop superstar Taylor Swift — a Kansas City Chiefs fan — stitched together to make it look like Swift is nervously watching Baltimore’s Lamar Jackson and his team take the field.

The video hit social media on Saturday, just one day before the Chiefs and Ravens face off at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore to determine which team will advance to the Super Bowl in two weeks.

Posted by an account called nflmemes_tiktok and initially accompanied by the audio “Style (Taylor’s Version),” it opens with a video of Swift, Brittany Mahomes and the crew celebrating the Chiefs, along with the caption: “Taylor Swift and her BFFs think about how fun the Super Bowl is will be together soon…”

Next in the montage, a booted foot hits the ground, before the clip cuts to Swift, 34, looking worried as she watches a Chiefs game. Immediately after, the video cuts to footage of Baltimore running back Jackson taking the field to Metro Boomin’s “Superhero.” The effect of the quick edit implies that Swift is concerned about the Ravens quarterback and his team.

The rest of the clip features celebratory shots of the quarterback and ends with an interview he gave during the 2018 NFL Draft, where he was selected with the 32nd overall pick.

I’m looking forward to being a Raven, he said in the video. “[They’ll get] all from me. They’re going to get the Super Bowl out of me. Trust that.”

“We believe in Captain Lamerica 🫡,” read the title of the video. By Sunday morning, the clip had received 1.4 million likes and more than 9 million views.

Swift has been a regular at Chiefs playoff games this year in support of boyfriend Travis Kelce, but Ravens fans aren’t exactly sure she’ll have a seat at the Super Bowl at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas on Feb. 11.

Jackson is looking forward to what he calls a “heavyweight matchup” against Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes. The game will mark the first time the signal players have met in the playoffs. “I don’t like competing against him at all,” Jackson he joked with reporters on Wednesday.

“He’s a great quarterback. Definitely a Hall of Famer,” Jackson said. “No brainer, he’s definitely a Hall of Famer.”

The league’s 2019 MVP added that tonight’s game should feature “two greats, two rising greats going toe-to-toe like a heavyweight fight, a heavyweight matchup, that’s what I see.”

As for his 28-year-old competition, Mahomes he told reporters on Wednesday that he “watched with admiration [Jackson] from afar and I know it will be a big challenge for us every time we come up against him.”
