Beyoncé is giving the BeyHive a wonderful gift: her hair care brand, Cécred, is now available.
Fans have been waiting for this moment since May 16 (although some have been begging the queen to ditch the hairstyle for decades), when Beyoncé pulled it off renaissance World Tour Teaser Content She “Created” something special on your Instagram feed.
In a carousel of images that showed Beyoncé styling her hair with unmarked bottles on a dressing table and a much younger Beyoncé braiding her hair, the megastar asked in the final slide: “How many of you knew my first job was cleaning hair at my mom’s salon?”
Her caption continued: “I was exposed to so many different types of enterprising women in her salon. I’ve seen firsthand how the ways we nurture and celebrate our hair can directly affect our souls. I watched her heal and minister to so many women. Having learned so much on my hair journey, I have always dreamed of carrying on her legacy.”

And while Ms. Knowles-Carter, 42, toured 39 cities around the world, launched her concert film and even announced Act II, fans waited, and waited, and probably saved their money (what they didn’t spend on cowboy hats inspired disco and bottles of her fragrance, too).
“Hair is sacred. Journey begins Feb. 20,” Beyoncé wrote in a Feb. 6 Instagram post that shows clips from the past (mother Tina Knowles’ former salon in Houston, Headliners) and the present (blink and you’ll miss Bey’s head tilted back in the salon’s bowl) before revealing the name of the future brand, which interweaves part of her name with the word sacred.
Meanwhile on Cécred’s newly launched Instagram, the brand assured: “The rumors are true. Cécred is coming. Mark your calendars for 2.20.24.”
And now the wait is over.

Cécred is inspired by and celebrates hair care rituals from around the world. As such, it is also for all hair textures and types.
She also takes inspiration from Beyoncé’s mother Tina Knowles, who the star watched mix technologically advanced formulas with rich butters and oils to optimize the health of her clients’ hair.
“I became a mixologist,” said Knowles, who joins the brand as vice president Essence. “At the time, there wasn’t a single product that combined high-tech hair care with the nourishing moisturizers and oils that were so vital for textured or colored hair, so I mixed the two.”

Speaking with EssenceBeyoncé described the extraordinary experience of witnessing the physical and other transformations that took place as Knowles nurtured her clients.
“A big part of who I am comes from her salon,” she said. “It’s my foundation – and I think as an artist a lot of my bold experimentation with hair comes from being inspired by art and sculpture; creativity with braids; inventing new techniques; and exploring ways to maintain hair growth with protective hairstyles and wigs while still feeling fabulous. It all stems from my experiences growing up in my mom’s salon.

Speaking of experimenting, Beyoncé’s own decades-long career and the creativity that went into each of her hairstyles (from braids and dyes to hair glue and everything in between) also helped shape Cécred.
Cécred launches with — what else? — the Foundation collection, a selection of eight products (housed in bottles with a sculpture-like texture) that clean, nourish and strengthen the hair. It’s powered by the brand’s Bioactive Keratin Ferment, described as a “patent-pending technology made from keratin derived from wool,” specifically honey.

In a press release for its debut, the Cécred team describes the collection as “the difference between routine and ritual,” adding that it gives you “the foundation to express your hair in all the ways you feel good.”
In the collection, shampoo and scrub for deep cleansing, but not stripping the scalp ($38), moisturizing shampoo with added hyaluronic acid ($30), moisturizing deep conditioner with oil and shea butter ($38) and Keratin Treatment Mask for Reconstruction ($42), Fermented Rice and Rose Protein Ritual for Strengthening ($52 for 4 treatments), Moisture Smoothing Lotion ($38), Nourishing 13-Oil Blend Hair Oil ($44), and Ritual Shaking Bowl ($20 USD ) intended for mixing fermented rice and rose protein powder.
The line, which is silicone-free and cruelty-free, is scented with the brand’s signature Temple Oud fragrance.

Beyoncé calls Cécred a “legacy project.”
“[It’s] the one that is probably most rooted in my ancestry. It’s way beyond work. Hair is our vine; it’s our family story,” she said Essence.

Given her long-standing commitment to philanthropy, it’s only natural that Cécred would partner with the Knowles-Carter BeyGOOD Foundation to create the BeyGOOD x Cécred Fund and provide cosmetology school scholarships and salon business grants to expand education and foster talent.
While September 4th will forever be known as Bey day, February 20th is now Cé day for us.
