The first Marvel comic may have debuted over 80 years ago in 1939, but there’s no denying that the Marvel universe has lived on in generations upon generations of fans. In 2008, the comic book giant would experience something of a cinematic renaissance with the release of Iron Man, spearheading the well-known Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). Dozens and dozens of movies later, the MCU shows no signs of slowing down. From a narrative perspective, the MCU explores the interconnected stories of its heroes through “phases” of movies.
