Tebogo Sepale’s ANC party said it had received several complaints against Tebogo Sepale from many women in her neighbourhood. An ANC councilor accused of rape appeared in Orkney Magistrate Court when he was due to make a formal application for bail, but did not apply for bail after speaking with his legal representatives. A spokesman for the Northwest State’s Attorney’s Office, Henry Mamothame, added that the state was awaiting the conclusion of the investigation and that the court may add more charges against Tebogo Sepale in preparation for trial. Tebogo Sepale is currently facing a total of 11 charges including four counts of rape, two counts of rape, one count of production of pornographic material, three counts of consensual child abuse and one count of sexual intimidation. Henry Mamothame added: “In one of the cases, the suspect allegedly shared nude images with the complainant, in another separate case, but involving the same suspect, two counts of statutory rape were filed on Saturday May 6, 2023, by the parents of two children aged 15 and 17. He will remain in police custody until his next court appearance,” the 43-year-old rape defendant’s appearance comes from police reports claiming that the Klerksdorp Domestic Violence, Child Protection and Sexual Offenses (FCS) Unit is investigating the case.
