You look at someone across the room and you could swear they raised their eyebrows at you for a split second. Ha? What does that even mean? This is known as an “eyebrow flash” and is a common non-verbal form of communication. When someone flashes their eyebrows at you, it’s probably because they want to talk to you or get your attention. An eyebrow flash is the unconscious act of rapidly raising and lowering the eyebrows when a person sees someone they recognize and want to talk to. Eyebrow twitching can also happen in other contexts, such as when someone is flirting, surprised or even upset.
