One of the most frustrating tracking statuses is “Before Shipping”. In most cases, this means that the person or company sending you something has notified the United States Postal Service (USPS) about the package, but has not yet delivered it to the post office. This article provides more details on what this tracking status means along with other statuses used by the USPS. In addition, we will tell you what other shipping companies use to notify you that the package has not yet been shipped.
If your tracking status says “Pre-Shipment, USPS Awaiting Item,” that means the shipper has created a shipping label for your package but hasn’t left it at the post office yet. Once the package is delivered to the post office by the sender, the tracking status will be updated and your package will be on its way.
