Does the religion of Sergey Brin correspond to the religion of his Jewish parents? Examine the entrepreneur’s religious beliefs.
Sergey Mikhailovich Brin, who was born on August 21, 1973, is a famous American entrepreneur who founded Google together with Larry Page. Until December 3, 2019, Brin previously served as chairman of Alphabet Inc., the parent company of Google. He remains co-founder, controlling shareholder and member of the Alphabet board.
As of May 2023, Brin is the tenth richest person in the world, with an estimated net worth of $93.2 billion. Brin’s journey began when he immigrated from the Soviet Union to the United States at the age of six. Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, he enrolled at the University of Maryland, College Park, to study mathematics and computer science. He got his Ph.D. in computer science from Stanford University, where he met Larry Page.
Together they created a web search engine that became famous at Stanford. Brin and Page paused their PhD studies to start Google in Susan Wojcicki’s garage in Menlo Park.
Does Sergey Brin follow the Jewish faith?
Sergey Mikhaylovich Brin was born in Moscow in 1973 and is of Russian-Jewish origin. Some sources claim that Sergey Brin is Jewish, but he is not known to be religious. The fact that Sergei was born into a Jewish family is no secret, which is why many speculated that his religion is Jewish. However, there is no evidence that Sergey Brin is religious. Brin married biotech analyst and entrepreneur Anne Wojcicki in the Bahamas in May 2007. Their union expanded their family with the birth of a son in late 2008 and a daughter in late 2011.

In August 2013, it was revealed that Brin had an extramarital affair with Amanda Rosenberg, director of marketing for Google Glass, which caused difficulties in their relationship. Brin and his wife Wojcicki therefore decided to live separately. The experience and subsequent separation attracted considerable media attention and scrutiny. Brin and Wojcicki finally formalized their divorce in June 2015, ending their marriage.
Brina’s divorce marked a significant personal change in her life, as it marked the end of their journey as a married couple.
Sergey Brin’s Family Ethnicity and Origin
Sergey Brin was born on August 21, 1973 in Moscow, Soviet Union. His parents, Mikhail and Eugenia Brin, both graduated from Moscow State University and were Russian Jews. Eugenia devoted herself to research at NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center, while Mikhail pursued a career as a distinguished professor of mathematics at the University of Maryland.
The Brin family lived with Sergey’s maternal grandmother in a modest three-room apartment in the center of Moscow. After Mikhailov returned from a mathematical conference in Warsaw in 1977, he decided it was time for his family to leave their homeland. In September 1978, they formally applied for an exit visa, a key decision that eventually led to Mikhail’s professional dismissal and Eugenia’s mournful resignation. For the next eight months, the family faced financial instability.
Because of this, they resorted to temporary employment as they anxiously awaited the outcome of their application, fearing a possible rejection, as was the case with many other families.

In May 1979, they received exit visas, which gave them the precious opportunity to leave their homeland. After leaving Moscow, the Brin family took a vacation in Vienna and Paris, while Mikhail, with the help of Anatole Katok, diligently sought a teaching position at the prestigious University of Maryland.
During this transitional period they received invaluable help and kindness from the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society. They eventually arrived in the United States on October 25, 1979, marking the beginning of a new and optimistic chapter in their lives.
