Which Flowers Are the Best to Give Moms as a Present on Mother's Day This Year

Flowers are a beautiful — and timeless — gift for Mother’s Day.

Ahead of the annual spring break, many may be looking for the perfect gift for their mothers, and flowers are always a great gift idea.

Fifty Flowers, a flower delivery service, has compiled a list of the top 10 flowers to give moms for Mother’s Day, and roses are at the top of the list.

According to the website, the flowers are considered “timeless” and “elegant,” and the different color variations they come in signify different things.

Pink roses, for example, represent “elegance, sweetness and respect, making them ideal for expressing adoration for your mother,” said Fifty Flowers, while their yellow combinations represent “joy and friendship.”

Fifty Flowers said at the time that carnations – which are “known to symbolize beauty” – were also popular flower options, as were lilies, which the website said symbolized “new life, fertility, innocence and fecundity”.

Tulips are another perfect option for Mother’s Day, according to Fifty Flowers, and the website notes that they are “unique” in that they “continue to grow, even after being cut.”

Then, calla lilies and peonies are also listed as great types of flowers to give moms, as are sunflowers and gerber daisies.

Garden roses and gladioli round out the list as other flowers perfect for gifting mom on a special day celebrating her.
