Payne Haas’ parents and relatives are generally known as troublemakers who have had several run-ins with the authorities. Payne Haas was born in New South Wales on December 2, 1999 to Uiatu “Joan” Taufu and Gregor Haas. Zeda Haas, Haas’ younger brother, was also assigned to several cases.
Payne Haas plays professional rugby league football. Haas is now a prop for the Brisbane Broncos in the NRL. Furthermore, the player is a member of the Australian national team at international level. Payne also represented New South Wales in the State of Origin series and the Premier’s XIII. Uiatu “Joan” Taufua is now in prison on three counts of murder, as well as charges of dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, evading police, driving without a license and driving while intoxicated. The horrific accident happened on December 30, 2022. Susan Zimmer (70), her companion Chris Fawcett (79) and Mrs. Zimmer’s daughter Steffanie (35) died in the crash. Taufua was the only survivor. The fatal incident, however, was not Joan’s first run-in with the police. Taufua was sentenced to prison in May 2022 for attacking two security guards at the Star Casino. In the end, she was found guilty of assault and sentenced to nine months in prison. On the other hand, Taufua was released after spending a month in prison. Even during the terrible crash, she was on parole. Taufu’s next court appearance is scheduled for September 14.

Zeda Haas, the brother of Payne Haas, was detained on Tuesday on suspicion of trying to smuggle $1 million worth of ice from Queensland into New South Wales. Ice, often known as crystal meth, is a type of methamphetamine comparable to speed, but purer than it. It can be highly addictive and harmful to human health, especially if taken frequently.
Zeda, 19, and Kaharau Beer were arrested in Beresfield, 22 kilometers west of New Castle. Both men were stopped on Apprentice Close in the industrial area of Beresfield, where police said they discovered about $1.1 million worth of drugs. On Wednesday, Haas and Beer appeared in Maitland Local Court and were both refused bail. A few months ago, Zeda was rushed to Gold Coat Hospital in serious condition due to a heroin overdose with his friends. Jeremiah Lolohea, one of his friends, died of a heroin overdose shortly after arriving at the hospital.
