Every Olympics fan wants to know who Emily Seebohm is. Please stay tuned until we find out. Champion swimmer Emily Jane Seebohm OAM rose to fame after competing at the Olympics. Between 2008 and 2021, she appeared in four matches.
Similarly, the Australian swimmer has three Olympic gold medals, seven Commonwealth Games gold medals and five World Championship gold medals. She is also coached by Michael Bohi and is a member of the Energy Standard Griffith University institution. In addition, the Australian swimmer is capable of performing a variety of strokes, including freestyle, medley, butterfly and backstroke. Emily Seebohm Parents: Father John Seebohm and mother Karen Seebohm
Emily Seebohm is a champion swimmer, born in Adelaide, Australia in June 1992. The 6ft 1.83m Australian swimmer was followed to her parents, John and Karen Seebohm. Emily’s parents enrolled her in St Joseph’s Catholic Primary School until the 7th grade, after which she transferred to St John Fisher College. The college is an all-girls Catholic institution. Seebohm’s father, John, was a former SANFL player. The Glenelg Tigers professional footballer has played in at least 300 games.
As for Emily’s mother, Karen is a swimming instructor and her first daughter. When Emily won gold medals in all of her games and competitions, the mother-daughter team must have been overjoyed. Emily apparently spent most of her youth learning in the pool. Karen, her mother, has a different opinion about her daughter. Karen’s child will forever be remembered as a charming, cheeky child who enjoyed beating her older brothers in bike races. Nice tidbit about Emily when she was younger. Karen said:
Before, she (meaning Emily) was simply a girl running around screaming at the pool. We (Karen and John) finally realized what a great swimmer we had when she was 12 years old. Emily traveled to the USA for the Olympics after seven years, when she was 19 years old.
Parents and siblings of Emily Seebohm
Emily Seebohm, an excellent Australian swimmer, has a lovely family of five. As for her family, she lived with her father, mother and two older siblings. She loved to play and fight with her two older brothers, as already mentioned. Emily has been getting all the attention of her family since she was the youngest. Similarly, she dropped out of high school due to her parents’ intention to pursue a professional swimming career.
When it comes to Emily’s romantic life, she was previously in a relationship with fellow swimmer, Mitch Larkin. They started dating in 2015. Additionally, the former couple had a home in Hendra, Brisbane. They bought it together. Unfortunately, things did not go as planned and two exceptional swimmers retired in July 2018. The Emily Seebohm Aquatic Center is named after Seebohm and is located in Bracken Ridge.
On 26 January 2009, she was also awarded Australia’s highest honour, the Medal of the Order of Australia. She became famous in 2022 after starring in reality series like I’m a Celebrity: Get Me Out of Here! and Challenge: Australia. Looks like the great Aussie swimmer has more to give in the coming days.
