Nikka Remigia’s parents, Mark and Jennifer, met in Santa Ana, California in 1988, where they fell in love and married. Nikko’s success is largely due to his parents’ faith in him and constant support. His parents are no longer together, but their love for Nikko remains strong. Nikko Remigio, the great Filipino-American football wide receiver, hails from Orange, California and attended Mater Dei High School.
Despite receiving offers from top institutions such as USC and Wisconsin, he decided to continue his college football career in California, committing to the team in 2017. Following the 2023 NFL Draft, Remigio signed as an undrafted free agent with the Kansas City Chiefs. However, his debut season was cut short when he suffered a shoulder injury during preseason practice, landing him on the injured reserve list after being waived/injured on August 29, 2023. Despite this setback, Remigio’s promise was clear during the preseason, when he showed his abilities and delighted many. Remigio is a Filipino-American rookie wide receiver currently on injured reserve for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Nikko Remigio’s parents are father Mark and mother Jennifer Remigio
Nikka and his two younger brothers were raised in Orange County by his parents, Mark and Jennifer Remigio. Remigio’s parents are from different backgrounds and have had an exciting journey together. Jennifer, his mother, is half black, half white and from Pontiac, Michigan. She is of Filipino descent. Nikko’s father, Mark, was born in Seattle, Washington and raised in Southern California.

When it was time to return to Michigan, Jennifer decided to stay with Mark and get married. They had their first child, Nikka, in 1999. Mother Jennifer works in communications, while father Mark is a private investigator. Nikko’s parents are no longer together, but their love for her remains. He attributes much of his success to his parents’ constant support and trust in him throughout his life.
Nikka Remigio’s ethnicity
Nikko Remigio has a very broad experience. He identifies as Filipino-Black American. His mother was born in America. She is the daughter of a Filipino mother and a black American father. She herself has a mixed background. Nikko’s father is from Washington. Nikko experienced problems growing up as a mixed child. He said, “Like you’re too black for the white kids and too white for the black kids. And so you are not Filipino because you are only half.” Over time, he began to embrace his heritage, becoming more comfortable in his own skin and recognizing that he is unique because he is mixed race.
Brother Nino is an ambitious soccer player
Nino Remigio is Nikko’s younger brother. Nino, like Nikko, grew up playing football, and today he plays wide receiver for San Diego State. Nino, who is 5’11, graduated from Mater Dei High School.
