Dylan Disu is from Pflugerville, Texas, where his parents, Michelle and Rodney, raised him and his four siblings. Dylan’s basketball path echoes his mother’s athletic background as Michelle was a college basketball player. Dylan began his basketball career as a senior at Hendrickson High School, following in his mother’s footsteps.
There he demonstrated his abilities, achieving excellent statistics and winning the MVP award. Dylan decided to play college basketball at Vanderbilt after receiving offers from numerous other colleges. Dylan had a career-high 29 points and 16 rebounds against Kentucky in February 2021, but a knee injury ended his season.
Despite the setback, Dylan’s skill shone through and he continued to improve. Dylan later decided to transfer to the University of Texas, calling it his “dream school growing up.” He graduated from Texas in Human Dimensions of Organizations in the spring of 2023 and is now enrolled in a graduate program in sports management.

Dylan Disu comes from an athletic background, and both of his parents played sports as children. His father, Rodney Anderson, played football at Texas A&M University (now Texas A&M Kingsville). At the same time, his mother was showcasing her basketball and volleyball skills at William Penn University in Iowa.
Dylan’s basketball talent, although he has athletic origins on both sides, most likely comes from his mother, Michelle. Dylan showed a keen interest in basketball as he grew up, and his mother played a major role in helping him succeed. Michelle’s approach to teaching her son was harsh and disciplined, but ultimately helped Dylan become a basketball player.
After completing her undergraduate athletic career, Michelle focused on her professional endeavors. She currently works as a commercial real estate agent at Beck Reit Commercial Real Estate, and since April 2020 she is the Chief Financial Officer of Tribeshopatx. In addition, she is a partner at Friedman Consulting, specializing in forensic accounting and litigation consulting. Dylan’s father, Rodney, worked as a lieutenant in the Austin Independent School District police station. He was in the police for 24 years.

Dylan grew up in Texas with his four siblings. She has an older half-sister, Breonna Anderson, two younger twin sisters, Megan and Madison Disa, and a younger brother, Aidan Disa. He has three younger siblings, Madison, Megan and Aidan Disa, as well as an older half-sister, Breonna Anderson, from his father’s previous relationship. Madison and Megan participate in high school basketball with Dylan.
Meanwhile, Dylan’s younger brother, Aidan Disu, a 6-foot-6 wing, attends Buda Hays High School. According to 247Sports, he is now commanding the recruiting process as a member of the class of 2025, with the attention of a number of universities such as SMU, Texas A&M and the University of Texas.
