A Washington state mother and three children were killed Tuesday afternoon in a high-speed crash in suburban Seattle, authorities said.
Andrea Hudson, 38, was driving a van with five children, including two of her own, when the four-vehicle crash happened in unincorporated King County just before 1 p.m., the King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) said.
Hudson and the three children were pronounced dead at the scene, the King County Sheriff’s Office said.
The King County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victims as Hudson, Matilda Wilcoxson, 13; Eloise Wilcoxson, 12; and Boyd Brown, 12, according to Renton Reporter.

Hudson’s children, Nolan and Charlotte Hudson, were critically injured in the crash and taken to a local hospital, as was the 18-year-old driver who hid the crash, the newspaper reported.
Another person was treated for minor injuries, sheriffs said.

The 18-year-old driver, who has not been publicly identified, is currently in custody pending criminal charges, the sheriff’s office said.
According to a GoFundMe set up on behalf of the Hudson family, the vehicle that struck Hudson’s van was traveling at a “high rate of speed” of about 90 mph.
Sheriff’s Office spokesman Sgt. Eric White said The Seattle Times that speed may have been a factor and that the crash is under investigation.
After the accident, more families are now grieving the loss of their loved ones.
For the Wilcoxson family, sisters Matilda and Eloise, the oldest of six children, were remembered as “truly mother’s little helpers”.
“Tillie and Eloise were active members in their churches, schools and neighborhood communities and will be greatly missed by all who knew them,” according to their GoFundMe.
Brown, who went by “Buster,” “was an exemplary son, brother and friend,” his family wrote on their GoFundMe.
“He was an avid violinist, athlete and student and was among the most energetic and energetic human beings you could ever meet,” according to the GoFundMe. “His passion for life, learning and taking on new challenges was contagious to all who were lucky enough to spend time with him.”

Those who knew Andrea Hudson – who was home-schooling the three children she shared with husband Abe and driving the children to a “home school activity” at the time of the accident – are reeling from her death.

“It’s a really difficult situation for a lot of these families,” Andrea’s sister Melanie Haines told CBS affiliate KIRO-TV. “They lost their children and their best friend.”
“Andrea was a ray of light to those around her and always had a smile on her face,” Hudson’s GoFundMe shared. “The most patient and kindest mother a child could hope for. She enjoyed spending time with them on outdoor adventures, was an avid health buff and cook. Her absence has left a hole in our hearts and will be felt by many.”
