Who Is Beverly Kills From “Drag Race Down”?

The second season of RuPaul’s Drag Race Down Under will premiere on July 30 with ten new drag queens eager to set the stage on fire with their charm. Beverly Kills, the queen of Brisbane, will be one of the contestants in the program. Kills, who is of European-Australian descent, will take part in fashion and performance challenges with the hope of becoming the next drag sensation on Drag Race Down Under. RuPaul will host the program and judges will include longtime Drag Race legend Michelle Visage and comedian Rhys Nicholson.

Beverly Kills, star of Drag Race Down Under, fell in love with drag as a child.

Beverly Kills, 21, is the youngest contestant on Drag Race Down Under. She was “born and bred on the beaches of the Gold Coast” but moved to Brisbane, Australia for the love of drag. According to her Twitter bio, she’s a “whip-cracking, fire-eating, jump-sharing drag queen.” Fans can get a preview of her talent on her Instagram account, @thebeverlykills, where she shares photos of her many personalities and is pushing for her 10,000 followers at the time of writing.

The burlesque and sideshow performer was a “school pariah.” When she was a teenager, she fell in love with drag. In high school, she witnessed RuPaul’s Drag Race and fell in love with the art. Beverly Kills witnessed “local drag live” when she was old enough to understand exactly what she wanted to perform. She started her drag career just a few months after turning 18 and quickly became a star. Beverly Kills not only won first place in a local drag competition, but also got a weekly residency at Fluffy (Brisbane), one of Australia’s most famous nightclubs. Considered one of Brisbane’s foremost up and coming drag performers.

Beverly Kills uses drag as medicine. Without resistance, it is difficult for her to “deal with” things because the art form makes her “bold and passionate”. In a clip from Wow’s Drag Race Down Under, she explained what Beverly Kills’ performance had to offer the audience:

“A Beverly Kills concert is all about brilliance and determination, and treading the line between the two.” So I’m trying to excite the crowd with a huge, loud punk rock concert, but I’m still going to seduce them with things like female sexual energy.”

Beverly Kills adores Australian drag culture because they “lift each other up” and serve as “one huge, huge family”.

People often assume that because she’s young, she doesn’t know what kind of moves she wants to make, but that’s not the case. The Queen herself said:

“Beverly Kills resembles a snake in the grass. She is slow, quiet, calculated and ready. When he realizes that the moment to attack has come, he will jump.”

That’s exactly what she sets out to accomplish in Drag Race Down Under, which will premiere on WOW Presents Plus in select countries worldwide on July 30.
