Who Is Bob Odenkirk’s Wife? All About Naomi Odenkirk

Bob Odenkirk’s wife, Naomi Odenkirk, has been a big part of his journey in Hollywood.

The producer, who married Bob in 1997, was the actor’s partner in career and private life. A year after the wedding, the couple had their first child, Nate. Their daughter Erin joined the family in 2000.

In addition to being a producer and mom, Naomi is also a talent manager at Odenkirk Provissiero Entertainment, which she co-founded. Along with Rachel Sennott and Ayo Edebiri, Bob is one of Naomi’s clients, which has not always been easy for them.

“In the case of Naomi, a really smart, informed person with a point of view … you want your wife or partner to care about how you feel, not the thing itself,” Bob said. The Wall Street Journal 2020 “If I told Naomi, ‘oh, I wrote this pilot. I turned it in [and] the network said they didn’t like it,’ I don’t want her to say, ‘well, they’re right.’ ”

Naomi shared that she and Bob eventually figured out how to work together and protect each other’s feelings.

She married Bob in 1997

In the March 2014 edition of the magazine Playboy, Naomi admitted that she had a huge crush on Bob and knew he was “the one” before they met.

“People would offer to introduce me to him, but I didn’t want to force it. I’d be like, ‘No, no, no,'” she told the publication. “A week later I was driving around running errands and I thought, this is the man I’m going to marry. It just occurred to me.”

The pair finally connected outside of a comedy club in California and started dating. In 1997, Naomi’s premonition came true when the couple got married.

She wrote a book about Bob’s series Mr. Show

Bob rose to fame in the 80s and 90s as a sketch comedian. From 1995 to 1998, he and his friend David Cross produced, wrote and starred in their own sketch show called Mr. Show with Bob and David.

In 2002, four years after the end of the series, she wrote Naomi Mr. Show: What happened. The book is an insider’s guide to the series, telling the story of how Bob and Cross met and how they created and filmed the series. Naomi also included episode and character guides, behind-the-scenes stories, and excerpts from unused scripts.

They share two children

Bob and Naomi have two children: Nate, who is a comedy writer who often appears in The New Yorkerand Erin, an artist who helped illustrate her father’s 2023 children’s book. Zealot and other important rhymes.

The actor shared with PEOPLE the inspiration behind the project, revealing that it was a nod to his children’s bedtime routine. According to the actor, he wrote songs with his son and daughter instead of reading books to them. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the family continued the tradition and the second time was a richer experience.

“His belief in me was very important to the project,” Erin told PEOPLE ahead of the book’s release. “And he also let me take the reins for a little while, or take over for him because he has so much experience and has a voice for this book… I really feel like we’re a good team for that.”

She has her own entertainment company

Naomi is a producer and co-owner of Odenkirk’s production company Provissiero, which helped create the hit Hulu show PEN15 and the movie No anger starring Jennifer Lawrence.

As a producer and Bob’s manager, Naomi often works with her husband. She produced his Netflix comedy show With Bob and David 2015 and the latest, the AMC dramedy Happy Hank in 2023

She was inspired to create No anger after finding an ad on Craigslist

No anger revolves around a family who places an ad on Craigslist in hopes of finding a woman to help their shy son come out of his shell. Bob and Naomi said Party tonight 2023 that the inspiration for the film came from an actual ad she found.

“This is Naomi’s big night because she found an ad on Craigslist that became this movie,” he said of his wife, who co-produced the film.

“I found this fossilized Craigslist ad from ten years ago, from Central America, in the ‘Random Encounters’ section of Craigslist that’s gone,” Naomi explained.

From there, the idea for the film was born. “I just printed it out and brought it in, and we immediately started talking about what kind of story would come out of this,” she added.

Bob and Naomi became close after his heart attack

Bob suffered a heart attack while filming his series Better call Saul 2021. After recovering, the actor realized that he needed to make a few changes in his life, including living more in the moment.

“I’m trying to be more present and make some space in my life,” the actor told PEOPLE in 2023. “Because when you’re rushing from one thing to another, you’re taking away the fun of the experience.”

Bob also learned that he needed to devote more time to Naomi and their two children. During the appearance of 2022 on Today show, he said: “The epiphany was simply that my life is bloody great and I should appreciate it and the people around me.”

He continued, “I think people really have an epiphany when they have a near-death experience, and often it’s ‘I’ve got to change something.’ And I think my enlightenment is that I have to appreciate what I have, because it’s really great and I have really great people around me.”

He often collaborates with Bob

Bob and Naomi collaborated on series and movies during their marriage.

In September 2022. Deadline announced that the couple will work together again on a film The Making of Jesus’ Diabetes. The comedy focuses on two brothers who plan to make a film about diabetes in the time of Jesus. Naomi has signed on as a producer, and Bob is a co-writer and co-star in the film.
