Who Is Bobby Flay’s Girlfriend? All About Christina Pérez

As one of the most famous chefs in the world, Bobby Flay is busy with his career, but still finds time for his girlfriend Christina Pérez.

The Food Network star met Pérez through mutual friends and the couple announced their relationship in November 2021 after dating quietly for about a year.

“She’s so lovely. I’m really lucky to have met her,” Flay told PEOPLE in December 2021. “My life is so crazy busy, and she’s always the light at the end of the day for me.”

Flay was previously married three times. He shares a daughter, Sophie Flay, with his second wife, Kate Connelly, with whom he was married from 1995 to 1998.

Since getting together, Flay and Pérez have shared many sweet moments. They made public appearances at events, were seen on dates and celebrated birthdays together.

“Happy birthday to the absolute most beautiful and honest person in my life. I love you CP,” Flay wrote on Instagram in honor of his girlfriend’s 43rd birthday in January 2024.

Originally from the Midwest, Pérez studied fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology and liberal arts at the New School for General Studies in New York, according to her website.

She is a writer and former editor

Pérez was previously an editor at various fashion magazines, including Vogue, Glamour, Happy and PopSugar. She is currently a freelance writer and has written authors Condé Nast Traveler, GQ, Architectural Digest and Harper’s Bazaaraccording to her LinkedIn profile.

Her writing focuses on “the intersection of travel, design, style, food, well-being and intentional modern living.”

In addition to her work as a writer and editor, Pérez was the senior director of content and creative at Miss Grass, a lifestyle cannabis brand that sells “sustainably grown and terpene-rich” THC and CBD products. The company also works for several causes and often donates a portion of its proceeds to charities. She left her director role after two years with the company in April 2022.

She traveled the world

Pérez traveled a lot and was in various countries and destinations. Before starting her career in the media industry, Pérez was a full-time model and traveled between Tokyo, Paris and Milan for work, according to her website. He now documents his travels in his writings and on social media.

She and Flay also often travel together. In September 2021, just before the couple went public, Pérez posted photos from their trip to Italy, including a selfie of her and Flay enjoying focaccia sandwiches in Rome.

She and Flay were introduced by mutual friends

The couple kept quiet about their relationship when they first got together. They met through mutual friends about a year before they went public at the 2021 World Breeders’ Championship.

A month later, Flay spoke with PEOPLE about his relationship with Pérez. “We were at the opening of an art gallery, I approached two friends and I said: ‘What are you talking about?’ They said, ‘We’re talking about you! It’s so nice to see you so happy,'” he said.

She loves to cook and even influenced Flay in the kitchen

The Iron safe the star is not the only one in the relationship who likes to cook. In December 2021, the couple teamed up to cook Empanada Asturiana, a Pérez family recipe. The writer documented that experience on her Instagram stories.

Flay told PEOPLE earlier that month that his girlfriend has also started to influence his cooking. “He’s teaching me to cook with a lot less meat,” he said.

If she’s not helping her chef boyfriend in the kitchen, she’s making sure their house looks great while they entertain. Before the holidays in 2022, Flay said Party tonight that Pérez “really wanted to make sure the table was beautiful and the house looked festive and beautiful.”

“It’s a 50-50 job for sure,” he added. “I take care of the food and Christina makes sure everything looks beautiful.”

In May 2023, Flay told PEOPLE that his “special lady” influenced both the decor and menu at his new restaurant, Brasserie B, in Las Vegas.

“Christina has spectacular style and she’s just one of those people who just gets it. She understands style and class and if something doesn’t feel right, she’ll tell me,” he said. “Christina is definitely one of the first people to take a peek at everything I’m doing in terms of a new restaurant.”

A few months later, Pérez first appeared on Flay’s TikTok account when the pair decided to cook their own version of Carbone’s spicy rigatoni. She stayed behind the camera, but gave her chef boyfriend a lot of encouragement as he cooked dinner.
