Chris Packham returns to our screens on Wednesday night in his new Channel 4 documentary, Chris Packham: Is It Time to Break the Law?, which tackles the naturalistic question of whether it is ethically reasonable to break the law to protest government climate change policy.
The 62-year-old naturalist is a regular on our screens thanks to his leading role in the BBC’s nature series Spring guard, as well as his appearances on Celebrity Gogglebox alongside his stepdaughter, Megan McCubbin. But did you know that he is not the only famous face in his family?

Who is Chris Packham?
Chris Packham is a naturalist, nature photographer, television presenter and writer.
He achieved his first big success in 1986, when he got an appearance in the children’s program BBC One, A really wild showwhich won three BAFTAs before ending in 1995.

Since then he has appeared in various nature programs and is perhaps best known for his work on BBC Two Spring guard.
In addition to his television career, Chris has done a huge amount of work for many wildlife, conservation and environmental charities, and is chairman, vice-chairman or patron of various organisations. He serves as Vice-Chairman for the RSPCA and RSPB and has been Chairman of The Bat Conservation Trust since 2006.

In 2018, the presenter received an honorary doctorate from Royal Holloway, University of London, for his outstanding services to wildlife conservation, and the following year he was awarded a CBE by the Queen in her 2019 New Year’s Honors list.
Who is Chris Packham’s sister?
Chris Packham’s sister is fashion designer Jenny Packham.
Jenny, 58, attended the prestigious Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design before launching her own label in 1988, which mainly features ready-to-wear and bridal collections.

Her designs are regularly chosen by high-profile figures, including the Princess of Wales, who has worn many of Jenny’s dresses. Jenny was the brains behind the outfit Princess Kate wore to the 2012 Olympic Gala at the Albert Hall, as well as the gold dress the royals wore to the James Bond premiere No time to die in 2021

Like her brother, Jenny is clearly passionate about the environment and dedicated to creating sustainable, responsible fashion. According to her website, the designer “seeks to reduce her brand’s environmental impact, incorporating ethically sourced materials where possible and promoting fair trade practices.”

The Early Life of Chris Packham
Chris was born in Southampton in 1961 to parents Rita and Colin Packham.
He was educated at Bitterne Park High School and then Taunton’s College before graduating in Zoology from Southampton University.

Earlier this year, Chris opened up about being bullied at school and said the experience affected him. “It was devastating,” he told The Mirror. “It leaves a scar that lasts a lifetime. I have a visual memory of some of the scariest things other young people said to me when I was a kid, and they still hurt me now. They tattooed something unpleasant on my psyche.”
