Who Is David Arquette’s Wife? All About Christina McLarty Arquette

David Arquette is a true romantic.

The Scream the actor began dating journalist and producer Christina McLarty Arquette in 2011. The couple split briefly in 2012, but soon got back together and married in 2015.

After their wedding, David told PEOPLE that the special day couldn’t have gone better. “It was such a wonderful night to remember,” said David. “All of our families and friends came together and just had a blast… The best part is just saying ‘I do’ and committing and kissing your new bride.”

David started acting in high school and later starred in series like Beverly Hills, 90210 and Parenthood. His main role was in 1996 Screamwhich, according to Entertainment Weekly at the time, it quickly set the record for the highest-grossing teenage slasher film.

Now David is a little more focused on his family. In 2014, David and Christina had their first child together, Charlie West, and three years later another son, Augustus Alexis, joined the family. David also shares a daughter, Coco, with his ex-wife Courteney Cox.

During Christina’s pregnancy with Augustus, David shared his admiration for his wife. “It’s pretty hard to be pregnant and watch a little rogue firmly in her terrible twos,” he told PEOPLE in December 2017. “She [sic] troupe, she is doing great. She is my hero.”

She’s from Arkansas

According to the 2022 profile Arkansas Democrat-GazetteChristina was raised in Hope, Arkansas by her parents, Shelley and Bud, before moving to Little Rock, where she lived from first through sixth grade.

“There was something really magical about summers in Hope and the fireflies and the sound of the bullfrogs and the stickiness of it that I just have such memories of,” Christina said of the house.

Her family moved several times before settling in Colorado, where Christina pursued her passion for competitive skating and graduated from high school. “I got really serious about skating and dedicated my life to it,” she said.

However, Christina eventually stopped skating at the age of 15. She added: “It was lucky that I did because I got to live and go to the college I always wanted to go to.”

She is a producer and former journalist

Christina studied journalism at New York University. In college, she interned for Senator Hillary Clinton — her uncle, Mack McLarty, was former President Bill Clinton’s chief of staff — and for MTV’s news and documentary division. Her first full-time jobs were local media in Arkansas and Texas.

Christina was also a reporter for Party tonight and The Insider. In her Instagram bio, she describes herself as an “Emmy-winning journalist > producer.” As a producer, she has collected several documentaries, including You can’t kill David Arquette, They call me magic and God said give them drum machines.

She met David in 2011

David and Christina met when she interviewed him for Party tonightaccording to Democrat-Gazette. The couple met again at a boat party in the summer of 2011 — although it wasn’t love at first sight.

Christina recalled having an “awkward conversation” with him on the boat, but they went on a real date a month after that, according to Democrat-Gazette. A few months later, David confirmed that they were dating in an interview with Howard Stern. “She’s adorable,” he said. “I’m not one to run around with different girls. I like someone I’m comfortable with and can feel comfortable with.”

When Christina had to move to New York for work in 2012, she and David briefly separated. “Unfortunately I’m single again,” David wrote on Twitter Hey! News. “A long distance relationship proved too difficult.”

The actor-producer duo eventually reunited and got engaged in 2014.

They have two children together

In November 2013, David and Christina confirmed to PEOPLE that they were expecting their first child together. David is also the father of a daughter, Coco Riley Arquette, with ex-wife Courteney Cox, with whom he was married from 1999 to 2012.

In 2014, David said he was ready to become a dad again following his split from Cox. “I’ve done it once so there’s not that fear that a first-time parent has because you just don’t know what to expect,” David told PEOPLE. “You have to have a lot of faith that you can preserve them and not mess them up too much.”

Christina gave birth to a boy named Charlie West Arquette on April 28, 2014 in Los Angeles. “Mom, dad and baby are doing well,” David’s rep told PEOPLE. “They appreciate all your well wishes and thank you for respecting their privacy at this time.” The Democrat-Gazette announced that Charlie was named after David’s grandfather, Clifford Charles Arquette.

In October 2016, David and Christina announced that they were expecting another boy. David posted a video on Instagram of his son Charlie holding a sonogram. “I am so incredibly blessed and honored that my wife @christinaarquette is pregnant with a baby boy!” he wrote. “Thank you Christina and humble thanks to GD for this huge gift! Charlie and Coco are so excited and I am thrilled!!!”

On March 8, 2017, the couple welcomed Augustus “Gus” Alexis Arquette. David shared a funny close-up photo of the newborn on Instagram. “His first thoughts were ‘Whatchu Lookin’ At?’ ” he wrote under the photo. Gus took his middle name from David’s sister, Alexis Arquette, who died in September 2016.

A few months after Gus joined the family, Christina told PEOPLE that David’s prior knowledge of fatherhood came in handy as they expanded their blended family. “The great thing about David is that he was a dad before I was a mom, so he gave me a lot of good advice along the way,” Christina said. “He does all these great adventures with Charlie and Coco.”

They got engaged in 2014 and married in 2015

David proposed to Christina in 2014, just two months after the birth of their first son. “He wanted his family to be there when he did,” a source told PEOPLE of the engagement in Malibu, California. “They’re going on vacation to Aspen to celebrate.”

The couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony in Los Angeles on April 12, 2015. Among those in attendance were their son Charlie, their two basset hounds and David’s daughter Coco.

David calls her “amazing”

Speaking with Arkansas Democrat-Gazette In 2022, David rushed to compliment Christina.

“The best thing about her is that she just has the sweetest heart. She’s incredibly funny. That’s one of my favorite things about her,” he said. “She’s an amazing mother, an amazing producer. She’s incredibly smart. Her skill set and what she’s learned as a reporter lends itself perfectly to being a producer and a businesswoman. I’m in awe of her. She’s beautiful.”

In 2023, David shared a photo of Christina with their sons on Mother’s Day. “Happy Mother’s Day @christinaarquette,” he wrote. Thank you for all your love, laughter and patience you show us. We love you!!!”
