Her jurisdiction covered the suburban and rural areas of Nashville. She is a Republican and was the head of the Republican Caucus in the Tennessee Senate.

Diane Lynn Warren was born on January 16, 1951 in Baltimore, Maryland. Joseph Warren and Audrey Warren are her parents’ names. They later moved to Linthicum, where she attended Andover High School and graduated in 1969. She became interested in the medical field during her childhood, so she attended Anne Arundel Community College and graduated with a degree in nursing. She later transferred to Belmont University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1991. She was the first in her family to complete formal education.
