Drue Tranquill is an American football player for the Los Angeles Chargers of the National Football League (NFL). He participated in varsity athletics at Notre Dame. Tranquill was selected by the Los Angeles Chargers in the fourth round (130th overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft. In 2019, he was named to the PFWA All-Rookie Special Team.
Drue, the team’s starting middle linebacker in 2020, broke his ankle in Week 1 and was placed on injured reserve on September 15, 2020. In 11 games as a true freshman in 2014, Tranquill had 33 tackles, a sack for a loss, an interception, a fumble recovery and a blocked punt.
