Flava Flav was born on March 16, 1959 in New York’s Roosevelt district, music attracted him at an early age, and he taught himself to play the piano by the age of five. After that, he got involved in the activities of the local church, singing in the church’s youth choir. He continued to show his musical genius by learning the drums and guitar in addition to his piano skills. Flava Flav, according to fellow Public Enemy member Chuck Du, can play fifteen instruments.
Flava Flav, on the other hand, did not have a peaceful childhood, she caught herself playing with a lighter. He even dropped out of high school by the eleventh grade, after a trip to prison for robbery and burglary. Hip-hop artists around the world recognize his work as the founder of Public Enemy. In the band, he served as a comic foil to the extremely political character of the band, Chuck D.
His first solo hit was “911 Is a Joke”, and he released his first solo album in 2006. After taking a break from music, he decided to return to the VH1 show The Surreal Life. After that, VH1 offered Flavo and his partner, Brigette Nielsen, a contract for the series Strange Love, in which the couple traveled to various countries around the world while telling each other their love story. He also tried and failed to open a restaurant in Iowa called Flav’s Fried Chicken. His other restaurant ventures were also not very successful.
