Glen Powell and Jehane-Marie “Gigi” Paris’ relationship is over.

“Gigi and Glen have broken up a few times,” a source told PEOPLE. “They’ve been on the rocks ever since Top Gun came out. Gigi was never satisfied with filming remotely and coming to Australia [where Powell was filming Anyone But You with Sydney Sweeney] they both decided to break up forever.”

The Top Gun: Maverick star and the model-turned-designer were first linked in early 2020 when they were spotted on a romantic vacation in Mexico. The couple made their relationship official on Instagram a year later.

In December 2023, about seven months after the break with Paris, Powell said Business Insider that it was challenging to promote a rom-com while going through a breakup.

“I was with someone I really loved and cared about and I was trying to find meaning in a lot of things,” he said. “It was a lot easier for Sydney to lean into something like that because she’s in a very committed and wonderful relationship and she’s very happy. So it was a little harder for me.”

Paris was born in Coconut Grove, a neighborhood in Miami, Florida. She spent her younger years in the city, but eventually moved to LA, where she lives “right under the infamous Hollywood sign,” as she explained in an interview.

She is a model and has appeared in campaigns for brands such as Nordstrom and Revolve

Paris has worked as a model since she was discovered when she was just 14 years old. One of the first jobs she booked was code Seventeen magazine, which she says was a big moment for her as a young model.

“I was 14 when I first started and I never thought about modeling… like, it never crossed my mind. When I first started, I booked Seventeen magazine, which was like ‘Wow!’ I was so excited for a little 14-year-old girl,” Paris explained in the interview.

Since then, she’s booked campaigns for brands like Revolve and Nordstrom, and even walked the runway in a swim at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week 2015.

Paris and Powell were first linked in early 2020

While it’s not known exactly when Paris and Powell started dating, they were first spotted together while vacationing in Punta Mita, Mexico in January 2020, in photos obtained by Daily mail. At the time, the couple had yet to confirm their relationship, but they were seen getting cozy in the water and sharing kisses on the beach.

Then, a month later, Paris was by Powell’s side as he attended WCRF’s “An Unforgettable Evening” event — though they didn’t walk the carpet together.

Paris and Powell were rumored to be a couple for over a year before they went Instagram official in 2021. On Valentine’s Day, they shared photos together from their adventures with sweet captions dedicated to each other.

“For you 💖,” Paris captioned her photo, while Powell wrote, “My ride or die. Happy Valentine’s Day, everyone!”

In November 2021, Powell and Paris walked the red carpet together for the first time at the annual Guggenheim International Gala. Just days later, the couple followed it up with another red carpet event when they attended the New York Moves 2021 Power Women Gala.

She is part French and part Venezuelan

Although Paris was born in the United States, both of her parents immigrated to that country when they were young. Her mother is originally from France, while her father was born in Venezuela. The couple eventually met when they were both attending the University of Miami. Paris says her diverse cultural background has shaped who she is as a person.

“I identify with many different cultures, so I don’t really identify with anything in particular. I call myself a little ‘blur’. I like to think that we as people are all one,” she said in an interview.

In 2019, Paris traveled to Bali to train as a yoga instructor. She spent 300 hours learning about the trade, and by the end of her stay she was certified. The model now occasionally teaches yoga classes, online and in person.

Paris later wrote about the trip on Instagram, saying, “This trip is hard to put into words, but to say the least, I left with no idea how much it would change my life.”

Paris owns her own clothing brand, Jijou Paris, which she launched in 2021. The company sells hand-dyed silk clothing inspired by “natural raw beauty,” including dresses, shirts, and loungewear. Powell even once served as a model for the brand.

After about three years together, Paris and Powell split in early 2023. The model sparked breakup rumors in April 2023 when she unfollowed Powell on Instagram and shared a cryptic post.
