The official plot summary for the program is:
Drag Queen contestants compete in various elimination-style events to determine who will become the Down Under Drag Queen Superstar.
Hannah Conda from the second season of Drag Race Down Under discovered drag at the age of 18.
Hannah Conda, who was born in Sydney, Australia, is now a full-time drag performer. However, she was not aware of the world of drag when she was younger. She was born to parents who ran the Castle Hotel and who were mostly employed. In addition, she spent the whole day on school duties. At the age of 18, Hannah discovered that a job she loved was a professional possibility. Even though she was aware that her job was frowned upon at the time, she still followed her passion. In 2012, she debuted as a drag performer in OutInPerth and became the most popular drag queen after that. In addition, it remained the “most popular” for the next two years.
Finally, in 2016, the Drag Race Down Under contestant became famous after winning two drag titles at the Drag Industry Variety Awards: Rising Star and Entertainer of the Year (DIVA). She continued to pursue her passions despite receiving several honors and recognitions. Hannah appeared at several Mardi Gras events in Sydney and opened for Bianca Del Rio on her Australian tour. She also produced and performed concerts in prestigious Australian halls. She last appeared at RuPaul’s DragCon in Los Angeles.
In addition to participating in concerts and events, the drag queen is the co-founder of Drag Storytime since 2016. It is a platform that aims to educate young people about drag culture by having drag queens read to them in drag. This is meant to teach young people about inclusivity, acceptance and love and to encourage them to dream big and use their imaginations.
Hannah Conda also provided her unique perspective on how the drag scene has changed since she originally won the Perth drag competition. She revealed during an interview with Perth Now:
“It is both a blessing and a curse. I believe because it was underground and banned for so long. I believe that many items today have not aged properly.”
