Biography of Henry Kissinger

Kissinger was born in the German city of Fürth, located in Bavaria, on May 27, 1923. His mother, Paula, from a wealthy family, was a housewife, and his father, Louis Kissinger, worked as a teacher. He was quiet and always enjoyed reading as a child. From an early age, he was interested in studying the Bible. He hates fighting and often cries for fallen soldiers. Loyal to football, the young Nazis, a nearby gang, often bullied Henry. He excelled at school and attended a local Jewish school.

His family moved to Germany when he was 15 years old. They lost all their wealth when they returned to the country. Kissinger worked in a factory that made shaving brushes to feed his family. He entered George Washington High School in New York and excelled there. He entered City College of New York in 1940 to study accounting after receiving his bachelor’s degree.

In 1995, he was appointed Honorary Knight Commander of the Order of the British Empire. He received the Sylvanus Thayer Award from the United States Military Academy at West Point in 2000.

In 2012, he was also awarded the Presidential Medal of Israel. The following year, he received the Henry A. Grunwald Award for Public Service.
