James Robison was born and raised in Pasadena, Houston, Texas. His mother, Myra Wattinger, was forty years old when he was born. He admits that he was a rape victim. His mother placed an ad for adoption in the newspaper.
“HD Hale,” a local pastor and his wife enrolled Robinson in their church services and cared for him. Robinson was seen discussing his childhood and strained relationship with his biological father. His father was an alcoholic who was also violent. East Texas Baptist College was Robinson’s alma mater. He graduated with honors from Middle Tennessee State University.
