Jeremy Hansen was born on January 27, 1976 in Canada. He is a retired Royal Canadian Air Force captain who flew a CF-18 fighter jet at Canadian Forces Base Cold Lake in Alberta. He and David Saint-Jacques were selected as Canadian Space Agency astronauts in 2009. Hansen was promoted to colonel and named mission specialist for the Artemis 2 flight. He will be the first Canadian and non-American astronaut to go to the Moon in 2024. Hansen’s extraordinary feats in space travel serve as an inspiration to many future astronauts.
Jeremy Hansen’s wife Krista Hansen is a model.
Krista Hansen, a doctor specializing in obstetrics and gynecology, is the wife of Jeremy Hansen. In 2001, she completed a residency program at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario, followed by a Masters in Public Health at Johns Hopkins University. She worked as a locum tenens throughout Ontario after graduation, covering other people’s gynecology practices. Krista and her husband moved to Cold Lake, Alberta in 2002, where she opened her own OB/GYN practice, becoming the only OB/GYN clinic in the region. She stayed in Cold Lake for seven years before moving to Texas for her husband’s astronaut training.
Krista, as the wife of an astronaut, had to learn to adapt to an unusual way of life that includes numerous movements and long periods of separation from her husband. She had to bear the brunt of childcare duties while juggling her busy profession as a doctor. Despite the difficulties, Krista supports her husband’s ambition to become an astronaut and has prepared herself and her family for the possibility that he will be away from home for extended periods of time while on a space mission.
She is also well equipped to handle any special medical issues or queries that may arise during her husband’s astronaut training and space missions, thanks to her medical background. Overall, Krista is a strong and successful woman who has dedicated her work as a doctor to helping people while still being a supportive wife to her astronaut husband.
