Peloton’s Jess King and her wife Sophia Urista have welcomed two children since tying the knot in 2021.

“There were many, many moments where I felt this complete knowing — this deep, deep, inner knowing that this is the person I wanted to share and create with,” King told PEOPLE of Urista in March 2021.
For King, there is “something so challenging” and “also so comforting” about being with his wife. “We’re constantly pushing buttons in ministry, in each other’s personal growth, and in the growth of our relationship,” she said. “There’s no stagnation, there’s no day that feels like the next to be honest. And that’s something that’s important to me.”
After celebrating five years together in 2020, King admitted that one of the things she loves most about her and Urista is “finding creative ways to celebrate” their life and love, as she wrote in an Instagram tribute to her then-girlfriend.

Urista auditioned for the NBC show covering the Beatles’ “Come Together”. The singer became a member of Team Miley on the program. Ahead of the season premiere, Urista told her Instagram followers that she auditioned for the competition, calling it “one of the most exciting things I’ve ever done!”
While being eliminated from the show, Urista wrote on Instagram that she was “grateful” for the experience.
Besides that Vote, Urista toured with Brass Against, which is “a collective of artists who share the goal of creating brass protest music that calls fans to action.” In 2019, Brass Against opened for Lenny Kravitz, and in 2021, Urista and the band’s version of Rage Against the Machine’s “Wake Up” was featured in the film The Matrix Resurrections, starring Keanu Reeves.

Really Matrix the feature wasn’t the only time she met Reeves. The singer also appeared in John Wick: Chapter 1, performing “Evil Man Blues” by Joe Williams with The Candy Shop Boys.
The singer shared on Facebook that she and The Candy Shop Boys lip synced their version of the song for six hours.
She and King met in New York

King was working at The Box nightclub in New York when she first saw Urista, she said PopSugar.
“I just felt overwhelmed and overcome by this attraction and attraction to her,” King said. “And I walked up to her and said something completely ridiculous. Something like, ‘Hey, do you want to hook up?’ ”
Unfortunately, Urista was in a relationship at the time, so nothing happened that evening. However, the pair reconnected a year later, and despite King saying it was “never on my radar” to fall in love with Urista, they began dating.
She proposed to the king

On September 21, 2020, King announced that Urista had popped the question and that the two were engaged.
“✨WE ARE ENGAGED!✨ Now she calls me “Feyoncé”. 😍,” she captioned her post on Instagram. “Swipe to see the rings we’ve created with 2 of our favorite designers. Mine by @graceleedesigns & Sophie’s by @soullogun. Ouch, L❤️VE!”
King later shared on Instagram that Urista wrote the song to propose to her and shared the accompanying music video, revealing that she cried at the moment.
She and King quietly married

Almost two years after getting married, King revealed that she and Urista were married. In early 2023, King announced that she and her husband were tying the knot in March 2021 surrounded by some of her “incredible select family.”
“Originally, we dreamed of a big wedding, but we quickly realized that our priorities were buying a house and having a child. Right after we closed on our home, we had this little ceremony. ♥️”, she captioned a video from their ceremony.
King also revealed that the couple had originally planned to have a bigger wedding following the COVID-19 pandemic, but decided their small ceremony was enough. “We feel so fulfilled in our love story as it is. Maybe one day we will,” she wrote.
She and King became moms in 2022

King gave birth to her and Urista’s first child in 2022. The couple’s son, Lucien “Luz” Urista King, was born on November 16, 2022. “He’s the happiest, sweetest, most delicious little boy. 😇 Thank you all for your love and support on this journey. We feel so loved and blessed,” King wrote on Instagram.
The fitness instructor announced her pregnancy earlier that year during one of her Peloton classes. “Sophia and I are so excited to bring this new energy, this new life into our home and become mothers,” she said. “My fertility journey has not been easy. For the past year, without you knowing Peloton, you have been there for me in ways that are powerful and unspeakable. So to all my fertility warriors, I see you, I feel you, I love you.”
Less than a year after they became parents, Urista gave birth to their second child. Their daughter, Afiza Maria Urista King, arrived on July 15, 2023, after more than 20 hours of labor. A few weeks before Íza’s birth, King posted a video of her and her then-pregnant wife dancing, writing: “@sophiaurista you’re glowing my love.”

King celebrated seven years with Urista in January 2022. In a tribute to mark their anniversary, the Peloton instructor sweetly wrote that her wife “has always meant something to me and for me,” adding, “You inspire me. You are teasing me. And you bring music, art and joy to my life. Thank you seems like a silly thing to say on your anniversary, but I am so deeply grateful for you and our love, so THANK YOU FOR EXISTING AND CHOOSING ME. I LOVE YOU.”
As far as she was concerned, King was only supporting Urista and her music career. “So proud of you baby and can’t wait to catch one of your shows! And also can’t wait for you to come home,” King wrote under a picture of Uristo performing in Europe.
