Who is Jigna Vora alias Jagruti Pathak?
Jigna was a police reporter working for a renowned newspaper in Mumbai. She completed law studies at Ruparel College in Mumbai and graduated from it. She was influenced by one of the professors to start reporting on crimes. While she was working as an intern in a law firm, her parents forced her to give up the chance to marry a man who was supposed to be an engineer and ran a printing press in Gujarat. Later, when she realized that none of this was true, her marriage ended badly. In 2004, she returned to Mumbai with her four-year-old son and decided to pursue a career in media. She began her media journey in 2005 as a court reporter.
In December 2005, Jigna published his first underworld story when mobster Chhota Rajan’s wife, Sujat Nikhalja, was arrested for extorting and threatening a builder. But Jigna came under the spotlight in 2011 as one of the suspects in the conspiracy to kill police journalist Jyotirmoy Dey. Hansal Mehta’s Scoop is currently streaming on Netflix. Karishma plays the role of journalist Jagruti Pathak, who is accused of helping Rajan kill his colleague Jaideb Sen. Most people’s names have been changed, but Chhote Rajan’s name is used as is.
Additionally, his memoirs detail his horrific experience in prison. She also wrote about the court hearings and her time working as a police reporter doing front page stories. Jigna revealed that the police asked her to strip naked when she had her period and she also talked about her friendship with Pragya Thakur in jail.
