Joel won multiple honors and medals in high school swimming competitions. While attending Northampton High School in Massachusetts, he was selected as the male athlete of the year in swimming and diving.
He began working as a welder and fabricator at Salmon Studios after graduating from Auburn University with a degree in professional aviation. Joel has also competed in multiple bodybuilding competitions, according to his Instagram page. He comes from a swimming family, according to his university’s website. Louie Bierwert, his father, was a swimmer at MIT, and Kim Bierwert, his mother, was a diver in college. Lindsay, Joel’s sister, is a swimmer at Hartwick College. Meanwhile, Joel is getting ready to wow the girls on Season 4 of Love Island USA.
