Jonathan Van Ness and Mark Peacock’s marriage may have taken fans by surprise at first, but the couple is no longer shy about sharing their love with the world.

At the end of 2020, A strange eye star announced on Instagram that he married his “best friend”. While fans were surprised by the news, friends of the newlyweds were excited to finally be able to publicly celebrate the couple and congratulate them on their wedding, including some of Van Ness’ co-stars.

Bobby Berk commented on the post on social media: “Yay!! That was a hard secret to keep!! 🤣 love you Mark and Johnny!” and Karamo Brown chimed in: “Finally we can celebrate it publicly!! So happy for you!!!!!! One of the most beautiful couples in the world.”

Since starting their relationship, Van Ness and Peacock have shared tons of sweet moments online, including a 2022 red carpet debut, an anniversary celebration, romantic international travel, and adopting a puppy together.

He is from England

Peacock is originally from Essex, a county in England just outside of London.

His Instagram bio states that he was “born in London” and his @MarkLondon caption also pays homage to his hometown. Peacock stayed relatively close to home for college and attended the University of Essex, where he earned a degree in landscape architecture and garden design in 2010, according to his LinkedIn.

He works in business development

Peacock previously worked at Men’s health UKwhere he put his passion for fitness to good use for readers.

In addition to helping behind the scenes as an editorial assistant and head of product development in the outlet, he also modeled for the magazine’s 2014 cover and hosted a training session in 2015.

After leaving the magazine, Peacock landed a role in business development for an event production company in September 2018, according to his LinkedIn.

He and Van Ness first met in London

According to Van Ness’ sweet Instagram post from January 2021, the couple’s first date was in London, and things took off quickly after that.

“We went on a date in London, which turned into more dates while I was on a comedy tour. At the end of that time I took my mom, aunt and friends on a little vacation to Amsterdam,” the Emmy nominee wrote along with a series of photos from their connections.

“I wanted @marklondon to come with us, but was it a little intense to ask Mark to come after a few weeks of dating to meet my mum and friends on a little holiday? Maybe so, but something about Mark was different and I’m quite sure he felt the same,” added the reality star.

He and Van Ness got married during the pandemic

The Quite curious The podcast host and Peacock exchanged vows in a socially distanced wedding during the COVID-19 pandemic in June 2020. While the early days of their marriage may have been unconventional, Van Ness noted how important quality time is to them.

“Thank you to the universe for allowing me to be here and thank you to everyone who has supported me. 2020 has been a year like no other,” Van Ness wrote in a New Year’s post on Instagram. “I married my best friend and have a loving partner with whom I continue to build my life.”

He moved to Austin with Van Ness

The following year, in 2021, Van Ness announced on Instagram that Peacock had become an official resident of the US alongside a photo of the couple outside the Citizenship and Immigration Services office.

“Yes he’s staying @marklondon 💗,” Van Ness wrote in the caption. “Today as a queer person who would not have been able to marry the person she loved just 6 years ago, our rights cannot be taken for granted! We are so happy to have this process behind us 💗 Green Card YAS!”

Peacock’s Instagram bio now says he’s “based in Austin.”

He is passionate about gardening and pottery

The peacock has various hobbies, just like his partner.

While Van Ness has been involved in gymnastics and figure skating in recent years, Peacock enjoys working in her garden and doing ceramics. He posts frequently about both activities and documents his progress in mastering the craft.

Van Ness is a well-known animal lover and has had a beloved four-legged family for years. From the beginning of his relationship with the animal advocate, Peacock accepted to become a pet owner along with A strange eye star.

In an Instagram post looking back at the highlights of 2020, Peacock expressed his love for Van Ness and his new animal family in the caption. “I married my soul mate and one true love @jvn and adopted a little Jack Russell named Pablo and joined a family of 4 amazing cats,” he wrote.

The duo welcomed another member to their fold in July 2022. Van Ness shared the news of the adoption on Instagram with an adorable carousel of photos and a “pupdate” in the caption: “Meet Mark and my newest addition Rose!”
