Who Is Josh Brolin’s Wife? All About Kathryn Boyd Brolin

Josh Brolin and his wife, Kathryn Boyd Brolin, are one busy couple.

They balance parenting with Josh’s acting jobs and Kathryn’s work as a photographer and entrepreneur. The couple even met while building their careers.

The two reportedly crossed paths when she was his assistant on a film set in 2013, and went public with their relationship on a trip to Rome the following year. Fast forward to after announcing their engagement in 2015, Josh and Kathryn tied the knot in September 2016.

They eventually began growing their family with the birth of their first child together, Westlyn Reign, in 2018 and daughter Chapel Grace in 2020. Since then, the Avengers the actor spoke of his “great respect” for Kathryn as a person and a mother.

According to her website, Kathryn earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a bachelor’s degree in photojournalism from the University of Georgia in 2009.

She also studied at the Santa Reparata Art School in Florence, Italy, with a focus on photography.

She is a photographer

Kathryn shares candid pictures of her family and snapshots of her everyday life on Instagram, but she does most of her photo work with a professional camera.

The photographer has served as an ambassador for Leica Camera and has undertaken editorial projects, such as shooting her husband for Men’s magazine and Tyler the Creator for Boardamong others.

Most notably, Josh and Kathryn made headlines when he posted a nude photo of himself that she took in 2020.

She worked in the film industry

Kathryn began her modeling and film career in Atlanta before moving to Los Angeles. She has worked as an assistant on film sets, such as the 2011 reboot Feel free, watch with Ben Stiller and A congenital vice.

Kathryn also had acting roles, such as a short film A girl’s experience and starred in the episode Inspectors. In 2023, the photographer played Cassandra in the Netflix thriller Reptile alongside Justin Timberlake and Alicia Silverstone.

She previously worked as Josh’s assistant

Kathryn’s work on film sets led her to meet Josh in 2013. The couple met when she worked as his assistant on set Old boywhere he starred alongside Elizabeth Olsen and Samuel L. Jackson.

The couple dated for about a year before he proposed with a diamond ring in early 2015.

They debuted on the red carpet in 2015

The duo made their relationship and engagement official while walking the red carpet at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival.

Kathryn wore a red ruffled dress accessorized with her new jewelry, and Josh kept it classic in a tuxedo and bow tie.

They got married in 2016

Josh and Kathryn were married on September 24, 2016 in front of family and close friends, including his father James Brolin and stepmother Barbra Streisand.

The actor said he was heavily involved in planning the wedding, even jokingly calling himself a “groomzilla.”

“I like it, it’s fun,” he shared Today color coordination and vendor selection for the event.

Kathryn designed her own gown with lace detailing and a train for the outdoor ceremony, where the couple said their vows under a rustic arch covered in roses.

She shares two daughters with Josh

The Brolins welcomed their first child together, Westlyn Reign, in November 2018.

“Mama Kathryn was amazing during this amazing birth and Bean is a flawless gem,” Josh wrote on Instagram to announce Westlyn’s arrival. – We are blessed to the core.

In December 2020, Josh and Kathryn celebrated the arrival of their second daughter, Chapel Grace. The new dad of four took to Instagram to share the sentimental meaning behind his name.

“Wherever we traveled, Kathryn and I always found great comfort in chapels,” he wrote alongside a photo of the newborn. “Chapel Grace is for us a manifestation of that heavenly feeling that was always felt as we writhed and knelt.”

The couple occasionally share cute moments from life as a family of four, including a video of Kathryn and her daughters dancing to U2 in their kitchen in January 2023.

Josh is also dad to his two older children, Trevor and Eden, from his first marriage to Alice Adair.

He has his own denim line

Kathryn founded luxury denim brand Midheaven Denim in 2018 in part because she couldn’t find jeans that fit her 5’11” frame. Since its inception, her brand has expanded from denim to loungewear.

“I’ve always tried to be as conscious as possible of my impact on the planet and also do things that fill my heart and make me excited and proud to go to work in the morning and continue to build a dream that was formulated long ago,” Kathryn wrote on Instagram in January in 2023
