After breaking off her engagement with Christian Carina, Lady Gaga found love again with businessman Michael Polansky.

The low-profile couple were first photographed kissing at a 2020 New Year’s party in Las Vegas, and went public with their relationship after spending a PDA-filled weekend together in Miami for the 2020 Super Bowl.

Polansky and Gaga ended up quarantined together at her Malibu home during the COVID-19 pandemic a few months later. A source close to the singer exclusively told PEOPLE in April 2020 that they were “hanging out at her house” and “ordering food delivery” while in self-isolation.

After the couple bonded, the tech entrepreneur, investor and philanthropist quickly became a major part of Gaga’s life. “My dogs and the man I love are my whole life,” she said The Hollywood Reporter in November 2021.

Gaga sparked engagement rumors in April 2024 when she was spotted wearing a massive diamond ring on that finger. She later confirmed the rumors were true when she called Polanski her “fiancé” at the Paris Olympics.

It became the official Instagram with Gaga after the 2020 Super Bowl

Gaga and Polansky made their relationship official on Instagram after spending Super Bowl weekend together in February 2020. The singer shared a photo of the two on a boat in Miami with the caption, “We had so much fun in Miami. Love all my little monsters and fans , you are the best ❤️.”

Polansky was also seen at pregame events and promotional events over the weekend to support Gaga, who performed on AT&T TV’s Super Saturday Night show.

“They weren’t shy about showing PDA,” a source told PEOPLE over the weekend. – They seemed very happy together.

He graduated from Harvard and is an entrepreneur

According to his LinkedIn profile, Polansky attended Harvard University between 2002 and 2006. He majored in applied mathematics and computer science.

Polansky is currently a businessman and entrepreneur who holds several roles among non-profit organizations and companies. Most notably, he helped create the Parker Foundation in 2015 with Sean Parker, co-founder of Facebook and Napster, where he served as CEO for more than a decade. The philanthropic organization aims to create positive change in global public health, life sciences and civic engagement.

He and Gaga share a passion for charity work

In addition to his work, Polansky also serves on the board of the Parker Institute for Cancer Immunotherapy, which funds research into cancer treatments. A source told PEOPLE that he and Gaga first bonded over their “focus” on charity, as Gaga is very passionate about supporting the mental health and well-being of young people through her Born This Way foundation.

The pair have also worked together to raise funds for various charities including One world: together at home concert organized by Gaga.

In an interview with MSNBC Morning Joethe singer also mentioned that Polansky is developing an app for her foundation.

“With the Born This Way Foundation, my mother Cynthia Germanotta and our co-founder Maya [Enista Smith]who I love so much — they’re working with the love of my life on something for mental health,” Gaga said.

A source later told PEOPLE, “They are both hardworking and love working together on charity projects […] They didn’t just sit around during the quarantine, they focused on where they could do good. They want to help wherever they can.”

Before dating one of the world’s biggest pop stars, Polanksy dated Lindsay Crouse,The New York Times senior staff editor. Crouse wrote a commentary for the publication about how she first discovered her ex was dating the megastar.

Crouse and Polansky dated for seven years before breaking up a few years after college. They seemed to end things neutrally, however, he deleted her from Facebook after their breakup.

“Lady Gaga is amazing,” she wrote of her former flame’s new girlfriend. “Comparing yourself to her is incredibly motivating and I recommend giving it a try, regardless of your relationship with whoever is dating her.”

Fans think he’s the inspiration for “Stupid Love”

On March 5, 2020, Gaga posted a selfie with her Polanski, and the caption had fans speculating if her single “Stupid Love” was inspired by the entrepreneur. “I have a STUPID love💕,” she captioned a post just a week after the single dropped, referring to finding a lover after a long and exhaustive search.

Before dating Polansky, Gaga was engaged to her talent manager, Christian Carino, before the couple called it quits in February 2019. She was also previously engaged to actor Taylor Kinney, whom she saw on the set of her music video ” Yoü and I” in 2011. Gaga announced that the couple had called off their engagement in June 2016.

He supports Gaga through thick and thin

In January 2021, Lady Gaga performed at the inauguration of President Joe Biden, and Polansky was by her side. The couple was even spotted kissing with the masks on at the event.

“Gaga enjoyed the inauguration and was in the best of spirits,” a source told PEOPLE. “She is very happy with Michael and feels grateful for his support.”

While Gaga was in Italy filming her movie House of Gucciher dog walker was shot and her two French bulldogs were stolen during a robbery in Los Angeles. In the end, the dogs were returned to the actress.

“She had just arrived in Italy to film right before her dogs were stolen, and she was clearly upset for a few days,” an insider told PEOPLE. “She would get updates from Michael. He would send her videos of the dogs after he got them back.”

The insider added: “Everything was very special and you could tell he meant the world to her.”

In October 2023, Gaga suddenly appeared on Saturday night live. Polansky joined her at the official after-party after the show. The couple lovingly held hands as they entered L’Avenue in New York.

In July 2024, during one of her final jazz and piano concerts at MGM Park in Las Vegas, Gaga gave Polansky a sweet send-off while on stage. She dedicated the show to “my gentleman”.

He and Gaga are engaged

Gaga confirmed her and Polanski’s engagement in July 2024. While speaking with French Prime Minister Gabriel Attala at the Paris Olympics, she introduced the tech entrepreneur as her “fiancé.”

At the Venice Film Festival two months later, Gaga flashed her engagement ring to photographers as she arrived at the event with Polanski. The ring on Gaga’s finger appeared to be a large oval diamond with a pavé diamond band.

He and Gaga made their red carpet debut at the 2024 Venice Film Festival

Gaga didn’t just show off her engagement ring in Venice — the film festival is where she and Polansky made their red carpet debut for the premiere of her film, Joker: Folie à Deux. The pair were joined by director Todd Phillips and Gaga’s co-star Joaquin Phoenix.

At the Sept. 4 event, Gaga wore a black dress with a dramatic lace headdress by Philip Treacy, while Polansky wore a black tuxedo.
