Lillo Brancato was born in Bogota, Colombia, on August 30, 1976. His adoptive parents were Italian-Americans, and he was adopted when he was four. His father, Lillo Sr., was a construction worker, and his mother, Domenica, worked in electrolysis. They lived in Yonkers, New York, where his parents worked. He also had a brother named Vincent Lillo, who used to be a model before becoming a civil servant in Yonkers.
He went to Mount Saint Michael Academy. A scout discovered his talent while swimming at Jones Beach. The scout said he looked like Robert De Niro’s son, so he got the part in A Bronx Tale as Niro’s son. Brancato, by chance, was a De Niro fan.

Lillo Brancato acting career began in the 1990s. He had appeared in three other films, but The Sopranos was his main role in the early days of his career. In 1993, he appeared in the film A Bronx Tale, playing Robert De Niro’s son. In 1994, he starred in the movie Renaissance Man. In 1995, he played the role of a radio operator in the short film Crimson Tide.
Enemy of the State as a young Worker in 1998, Blue Moon as Pete in 2000, R Xmas as the husband in 2001, The Adventures of Pluto as Larry in 2002, and many other films followed. Saturday Morning was his last film to be released before his arrest in 2005. The film was later released in 2007 after all of his scenes were edited out. Following his release in 2013, his next movie was Back in the Day in 2016, which did not fare well. He continued to use drugs while in prison but was released on parole on December 31, 2013.
