WWE fighter and model Nina Agdal, who got engaged in July 2023, welcomed her first child, daughter Esmé, in September 2024.

The couple became Instagram official in December 2022, although they were already linked in the summer when they were spotted out and about in London.

“2022, the beginning of me and you,” Agdal wrote alongside the couple’s favorite picture.

She is from Denmark

Agdal is originally from Denmark, although she immigrated to America at the age of 18, settling in Miami. In a 2014 video interview with Beach Bunny Swimwear, the model showed off her knowledge of the Danish language.

“It’s great to speak Danish because no one will know what you’re saying,” she joked.

In February 2023, Agdal told Daily Front Row that she returns to Denmark once a year, and she took Paula with her in December 2022 to show him her hometown.

“I go home to see my family, so when I’m there, I’m dedicated to spending quality time with them,” she said. “And I’m also dedicated to eating hot dogs. Danish hot dogs are amazing!”

She is a famous model

Agdal has built an impressive portfolio since she started modeling. She showed up at six SI Swimsuit Issues, including the cover of the 50th anniversary issue in 2014, where she posed with Tiegen and Aldridge.

She first appeared in SI in 2012, which earned her the honor of Rookie of the Year. Agdal went on to appear in Victoria’s Secret campaigns and walked at New York Fashion Week.

In 2019, the model spoke to PEOPLE at Uniqlo’s Fall/Winter 2019 preview about her show prep routine. “I always only got hair and makeup [done] but it’s actually kind of fun to do my own thing,” she said.

However, her career had its ups and downs.

In 2018, Agdal spoke out on Instagram after being discovered by Fort Lauderdale magazine Venice refused to publish pictures of her because they claimed she did not fit in a sample size and said the photos “do not reflect well on [her] talent.”Her post went viral, and the model shared s W as she planned to think more carefully about what jobs she would take on in the future.

“I’m very selective in what I’m doing right now because this is very important to me. I don’t try to jump into any job that jumps out at me,” said Agdal. “I just support people who truly believe that all women are beautiful.”

She added: “At the end of the day, no one should be judged or shamed. It’s obvious that I want to continue modeling, but it will just be a different direction where I can also tell my story and not just be a face.”

She is an advocate of body positivity

While speaking with PEOPLE in 2019, the model opened up about her insecurities and said she “definitely” gets nervous before big red carpet events.

“I’m very insecure about my breasts,” she told PEOPLE. “I have a weird thing with low-cut dresses because I have real breasts. I was always very insecure about it because it wasn’t accepted in the industry for a long time.”

“Even today, if I wear a sexy dress, I have to force myself to go out in it because I’m used to not showing it,” added Agdal.

However, she struggled to be a body positive advocate – especially after her Instagram post went viral about her Venice shoot.

“I was distraught. I just sat on the couch and cried for 30 minutes. It felt like a relief to finally say something this real,” she said W. “Instagram is a perception game. That’s not f—— reality. So finally posting something that meant something to me, from me, definitely made me feel super emotional and vulnerable. But I felt happy. I’m so happy I was able to do it.”

She said that while she was nervous about sharing the post, the outpouring of support was worth it.

“The support was huge. I don’t care about this, but it was the most viewed, commented and liked post I’ve ever made on Instagram. It just shows how important this is,” said Agdal. “I read every comment. What meant a lot to me was that parents wrote and said: ‘My little girl is 14 years old and trying [model]and I’m so happy you’re doing this.’ ”

She met Paul in 2022

In an interview for Daily first rowAgdal said that she met Paul at an event in New York where she felt she should talk to him.

“I discovered that he was there and I screamed to myself that I had to greet him,” she told the newspaper. “I basically convinced him to meet me and my friends upstairs for a drink. I didn’t want to walk downstairs because of my sore back. He came upstairs and we started joking around. I immediately felt like I had known him for years, and here we are. It was wild!”

She and Paul got engaged in July 2023

Paul got down on one knee in Italy’s Lake Como – and Agdal said yes. The couple announced their engagement with a joint post on Instagram.

“Engaged to my best friend,” the couple captioned several photos from the special moment.

In a separate post on her Instagram Story, the model wrote: “I get to marry the boy of my dreams, my best friend, my rock, my soulmate. I love you soooooo!!”

She appeared on Paul’s podcast

In August 2023, Agdal was a guest on Paul’s podcast, Impulsivefor the first time. The couple opened up about their Italian engagement and shared details of Agdal’s diamond ring.

“It’s an e-color, emerald cut, 6.23 carat, VS2 [diamond]” Paul said. To which Agdal replied: “It’s absolutely stunning and perfect. You have outdone yourself. This is everything I wanted and more, and so are you.”

She previously dated Leonardo DiCaprio and Jack Brinkley-Cook

Paul is not Agdal’s first celebrity partner. The model dated actor Leonardo DiCaprio for a year until they split in 2017. She then dated supermodel Christie Brinkley’s son, Jack Brinkley-Cook, for four years before they split in 2021.

During her relationship with Jack, Agdal grew close to his famous mother – and sometimes turned to her for business advice.

“It’s actually really, really good. Me and Christie are super cool,” Agdal said of her relationship with Christie on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen. “She’s one of the … smartest women and one of the most beautiful women … She’s an amazing woman. She’s so sweet.”

Agdal and Jack seemingly broke up in November 2021 when they both deleted their Instagram photos together and unfollowed each other.

She and Paul welcomed their first child in September 2024

Paul and Agdal announced the arrival of their first child, daughter Esmé, at the end of September 2024.

“My whole world,” the model wrote on Instagram along with several sweet photos of the newborn.

The couple announced they were trying in April 2024. Later that same month, the couple hosted a wrestling-themed sex show and learned that Agdal was pregnant with a baby girl.
