He sang Chains for his blind audition, which helped him impress Pharrell Williams and Christina Aguilera until Blake Shelton and Adam Levine switched their positions. Artist Happy went on to say that he would pass those genres on to any judge because he is a composer, not a musician, and would love to be a part of Malik’s journey. The American Idol season 21 contender finally chose Christina Aguilera as his coach, and his most notable performance was on the Fight Ring when he sang It’s a Man’s Man’s Man’s World with Byran Bautista. While Bryan won the round, Malik scored four kills and had a chance to pick his instructor again. He joined Pharrell Williams’ team, but was eliminated in the next round.
